DOC

Is this a sound investment or a waste? Anybody have any idea what they cost? I'm trying to decide if this is something I should have or does this go on the 'splurge' list? TIA

I've been to a few weddings and in my opinion, unless you're having 300-400 people at your wedding and all these different things happening then yes you should get one. But if you're having a regular wedding, trust me your hall will take care of everything.

I also think it depends on where you are getting married, the set-up of the hall the staff there.

They usually range in price from 300 up to 1000 depending on what you have them do.

If you are thinking of one, meet with them to see what you think.

Re: DOC

i put up a post on the VHB board for prices and services and got a bunch of responses. i met with a few but chose rosalie in the end because she came so highly recommended on these boards! i feel it was one of the best investments in the wedding i've made! i dont want to burden family members or BP members with little tasks all day long.

Re: DOC

To me, it's already worth it for the peace of mind I have knowing my DOC is handling my details. My 'must take photo list' will be done, my chocolate buffet will be set up while I'm having fun, the roses will be handed out to my female guests, my favors will be set up how I want, my rose petals will be handed out, etc. all while me, my family and friends are enjoying ourselves.

I'm using Rosalie, who I love, any paying $650 from minute one of my wedding day to the last second. She's AWESOME! (and highly recommended and loved by all who use her!)

yes i totally agree. when my sister first told me she was getting one i thought to myself 'well, what is the DOC going to do that my sister can't do herself?'. I thought my sister is so organized and everything but I soon realized after she explained some of things that she does WHY she is so important. There are certain things that no matter how organized you can't possible do or if you try, you are going to be going crazy on your wedding day rather than enjoying it.
it's so hard to remember or check off from a list EVERY must take pic you have and make sure the photog is doing that or to bother one of the BM's to put out the menu cards on every table b/c some halls refuse to for insurance reasons-- things like that, along with so many other small details are all taken care of by the DOC-- so that way, my sister can relax and take everything from the day in rather than worrying herself with 'is everything i want being done?'

she also booked rosalie. once you meet with her-- it's done, take it from every girl on here! when you meet with her-- SOLD! lol, she's the best!

that's JMO, but take everything into consideration and make your decision! but i would listen to everything she does b/c there are a million things that she does that i didn't mention, i just gave like two examples. good luck to you, HTH!!

I loved my DOC, Judy, The Bride's Best Friend. See my review for details. I think she was worth every penny!

Yes, that is me and I really was one of those people who never thought I would need a DOC or get one, but I am the type that wants things I planned to run smoothly so I decided it was a good idea. I dont want to worry about the pictures that I want taken, calling all vendors and confirming, tips, etc... I dont want people in my family running around doing this or worse me- I want just to relax and enjoy the day and not have my mom or MOH or anyone else worrying about anything but dancing, eating, and enjoying. Rosalie was highly recommended from so many brides on here and when I met her I knew she was the one to choose!! HTH

Re: DOC

I think the decision is a personal one and based on circumstances. For me, it is the BEST money I have spent on the wedding thus far. Francesca has been an absolute life saver so many times since I signed that contract in December. I joke around and call her my professional worrier, but she is sooooooooo much more than that.
