So, i'm a little over a month away and am thinking of hiring a DOC but FH isn't sold on the idea--he feels we can handle everything ourselves. Any reasons you gals can offer why we should hire one? Would appreciate the insight

I hired a DOC last week and she's been nothing but great so far. We haven't spoken a lot since we are over 6 months away but she put my mind at ease already.
I am time-nazi and if something doesn't go according to schedule, I WOULD NOT want to have me or FH worry about it and start being -zillas.. I want to enjoy my day... I am also DIY centerpieces so I want to make sure they are set up properly and that's what sold me on getting a DOC.

I hired a DOC. She hasn't really been in contact with me so far like that. But I only hired her for the day. We was suppose to met soon. But I heard she is great. I hired her because I want to ENJOY my wedding, I don't want to hear of any problems from any of my vendors. Also, I want everything layed out the way it is suppose to be, the way I like,

I hire a modern day affair because there was just so much I wanted to change such as bring my own linens and I wasn't sure exactly how the day should run. I have emailed my day of a couple of times and she check in with me on something I posted one day on this site she really made me feel like I have nothing to worry about. Probably my best decision.

I just want the day to run smoothly. I don't want to have to worry about the people that will probably show up late to the church. I need someone to make sure they don't try to walk down the asile right behind me

Well there are a few reasons why we wanted one.
1. My mom is a momzilla and she would rip any vendor a new one if they screwed up anything on her princess's big day!!!!!!!
2. I wanted everyone to really enjoy the day instead of running around.
3. Needed someone to set up the favors at the tables
4. someone to set up our photo props and digital picture frames in the library.
5. Someone to ensure the little details like my gold sugar on the rims of our signature drinks.
6. she can lay out flower petals in a pattern for my aisle.
7. she can light candles.
8. she can pay vendors.
9. someone to put the flowers on the cake, just the way I want them to be.
