Sorry the Royal Wedding special isn't for A Modern Day Affair, it's for Cheeky Glam Events.
It's still a super cute idea though!
We are using Cheeky Glam and absolutely love them!! As soon as I met them I knew I was going to be in good hands.
They are basically there to handle anything and everything that you may need that day and are also very helpful with helping me get some other to-do's that I have left on my list. I know my girls are here for me, but these are little details that I can't have them worry about because I want them with me that day instead of runnig around and checking to make sure everything is PERFECT.
Definitely check them out -- they have a FB page and a website.

Re: DOC
i got Christine from piece of cakes and she is very reasonable and she has been my favorite vendor that I have used since planning the wedding. I also think is very helpful. Having her has really calmed me down with all the wedding plans. She also have been helpful with questions to ask my vendors and what not.

Re: DOC
FH definently wants us to have a DOC!!! Yes I said it my FH!!! Me i'm ok without one lol!! So the search begins. I met with Francesca from Dazzling Affair .. she was really really nice but pricey compared to other quotes I got for DOC. We'll see.

Re: DOC
We got a wedding planner. I know it sounds crazy but i find it really helpful. FH and I just work so much that we really cant plan everything on our own. She only helps us with specific tasks (paying for her to help us with everything would have been crazy expensive) She also takes over a month out and makes sure everything runs smoothly the days leading up to the wedding as well as day of. If anyone wants her info let me know she's amazing! Also theirs a whole listing of wedding planners here:http://nymag.com/weddings/listings/planners/

I am definitely on the fence about this one. I'm sure my FH would say it's a waste of money too. I would sign up for DOC 101

Re: DOC
I look at it this way.... A DOC is there to handle any problems that arise. It is kind of like an insurance policy. In most cases you pay for a DOC and there is no issues so it is a waste of money. However, all it takes is one 'accident' or problem and it makes the money totally worth it.
The way I look at it you buy car insurance so that you have it if you get into an accident. You pay for the year whether or not you get into an accident.
I want my bridal party and FH and I to not have to deal with any problems the day of. I want my DOC to do that!
I met with about 7 or 8 different people when I was looking for the right DOC for me. The cost really ranged. I was quoted as low as $350 and as high as $1,000.
One thing that I think that is important and that you should ask when meeting with DOC is to ask about their experience in planning weddings, meetings, etc. There are some people that are out there that the only experience that they have is planning their own wedding. It is very different to be in charge of problems with someone elses wedding and not your own. I use to plan meetings for Philip Morris and let me tell you..... its completely different!

Good Point, Mara. It definitely seems like it's worth it when you put it that way.
