I'm wondering if you chose to use a DOC, why? I keep thinking about using one to handle small details like personal items, set up, handling vendor payments on the day of, etc., but I'm not sure that it is necessary.
Any enlightenment as to why you decided either way would be very helpful.
Thank you!

Re: DOC? Are you using one? And why?
I'm not. We really have no need for one.
1. I plan on using our bridal attendant for myself and Alfonse to 'do our bidding.'
2. Our best man is the bestest best man ever and we'll trust him to do the payments and such.
3. Our RH will do all the setting up I need - which is minimal...

Re: DOC? Are you using one? And why?
I chose to have one because I am having a church wedding and a reception @ a different venue. I want my parents to enjoy themselves My family is notoriously late and they really don't listen to anyone and I would like to have someone to 'round up the troops.' My MOH has a child and it would be hard for her to run around while watching the baby! I want my DOC to be in charge of making sure the limos are on time, photographer etc.
I love my DOC she is amazing. Christine Viola Exquisite Affairs Productions.

Re: DOC? Are you using one? And why?
I am.
1) I'm using her so that I'm not dealing with any stress that day. She will make sure that everything runs smoothly and that my mom and FMIL aren't stressed with these things.
2) My family is NUTS!!!!! Well some of them are.... She is going to keep them away from everyone! This is actually my main reason

I keep going back and forth. My florist is amazing and said she could handle the personal set-up we will have. But I'm not sure about other things. Every second I change my mind, add something in, make something a little bit more complicated...so I wonder if it would be good to have one.
Ugh. If I don't decide soon everyone will be booked!

We aren't using one either. We have two attendants, I believe, and a matre'd. My florist is awesome and is going to set everything up. And I have complete faith in the JT to keep track of all the other details.

Who handles things like setting up your seating cards? And putting out favors? Do I give this all the my banquet manager the week before and he does it?
What if I want satin ribbon tied on the back of chairs?
This is the stuff I worry about ...sigh.

We aren't using one. Honestly if something isn't running smoothly I will deal with it -- I have a hard time reliquishing control to anyone.

Re: DOC? Are you using one? And why?
I guess it's a personal decision. I would never have thought I'd need one but the closer I get to the wedding, the more I feel like I do. Half of my dad's side of the family doesnt talk. Onewants to sing Elvis and wear a white elvis suit to my wedding and the other wants to bake my cake. I'm been having horrible thoughts about what this side might do.... They all fight and are obnoxious. I'm really really really bad with confrontation and dealing with things. So when I heard about a DOC, I looked into it. She will not only take care of all that but she'll work side by side with the bridal attendant and Maitr'd to make sure that i am not stressed. Not only does she take the stress off of the bride but she also takes the stress away from MOB Or MIL having to worry about all the little things.

Don't worry about any of that... If you don't hire a DOC, then your maitr'd and BA will do all that. If you have a DOC then she will just supervise and make sure that everything is handled. If it's not, she will take care of it.
