Im interviewing Day of Coordinators and I was wondering if you were getting one. Im a Type A and worry/get anxiety so I think it will help me chill out and enjoy my day. I read on here that some people loved having one but my friends that got married say its a waste of money. Now Im confused about what I should do. FH says we should get one if I want.

Re: D.O.C to get one or not?
I'm the same way but I can't imagine spending extra money on it. If you can afford to do it then I think go for it. This wedding is costing me an arm and a leg so I can't afford to spend any more than I have

I personally think its a waste of money, some girls say it was great and to get one but honestly she would be there if somethin goes wrong i am not plannin for something to go wrong...its all my family n friends there and i just want to enjoy the night...plus i am a person who feels things get done the right way when u do them so i have faith in myself n my vendors and my MOH and my mom n mother in law to helP if i need it...i think a doc isnt required its like a extra

I'm too Typa A to allow annyone to 'help', if you get what i'm saying. I have 9 bridesmaids who can help me out on the day off....I don't need a stranger.

Re: D.O.C to get one or not?
I hired one. I want to be a guest at my own wedding, not be worrying about things. Something is always going to go wrong, no matter how hard you try - so I'd rather not have to be stressed. My MOH thought I was crazy & was like 'whatever they do you or your mom or I could do'. I don't WANT anyone having to take care of or do anything - I'd rather hire someone to organize it all. It made sense for me and it wasn't expensive.

I thought the same thing. If something goes wrong I dont want my mom or moh to be bothered plus Ill probably know about it. Im sure I can do what they do too but I figure that me knowing I dont have to remember everything is worth the price. The quotes I got were not expensive at all especially since we are only having one limo and doing our own centerpieces and have cut alot of expenses.

Re: D.O.C to get one or not?
At first I thought I didn't want one but after meeting with my DOCs.. the price was CRAZY LOW for what they do and I would pay double the price to know that I don't have to worry about anything and my MOH doesnt either. My mother is super high stress so I also don't want her taking care of anything on that day.. I'm etail oriented and knew that they are too.. and they have been my favorite vendor so far. It's def a personal decision but I can't imagine my wedding without them!
Below is what they do:
-Unlimited contact from the moment you contract us via telephone/email -Up to 10 hours of coverage with 2 planners on your special day -Two face to face meetings prior to your event (1 meeting on a date of your choice and 1 meeting the week of your event) - Custom time-line, tipping guide and checklist for the day of the wedding (copies of timeline will be distributed to all of your vendors) -Review of all preexisting or new contracts -Confirmation with all vendors the week of the event -Assistance with your guest list, seating chart and RSVP's if needed -Attend ceremony rehearsal -Coordinate bridal party entrance and receiving line -Distribution of bubbles, flower petals, programs and/or any other items you would like your guests to have -Check Bride & Groom into wedding night hotel -Deliver OOT bags/boxes to hotel (if needed) - Inspection of venue layout and set-up -Execute the placement of all details such as place cards, menus, favors, etc. -Coordinate reception timeline (entrance, dances, toasts, cake cutting, etc.) - Guest assistance- special attention to any special needs or requests from your guests - Final payment and gratuity distribution to all vendors - Provide bridal 'emergency kit' - Collection of all of the bride's items at the end of the event

could somebody give me an idea of pricing? I'm sure it ranges by different companies but i was just wondering what an approximate price would be.
TIA!

Re: D.O.C to get one or not?
I thought it was senseless for a long time, then I met with Cheeky Glam and I have to tell you that in a shor titme they have saved my life... when i feel like i want to elope and never look at planning a wedding agian they are there. They answer emails almost immediatly and are there w a porfessional knowledge to guide me in the right direction. I have control issues and thought i would be hard to let go and let them step in but it is a welcomed advocate. They have looked over each of my contracts and thank God they did.
I dont want to to have my bridal party 'work' at my wedding, i want to know that at the end of hte night there is someone there to make sure my extra dinners are packed (so i can finally eat back at the hotel) and all my little things are put together so i can enjoy my last dances.
It is also a peace of mind thing, they know what you want so when something goes wrong they will be prepared to handle it, and in worse case they will reach out to the identified person you tell them to to solve the problem before it gets to you so it is stress less.
The prices are resonable and for the peace of mind it is priceless. I would totally recommend reaching out to Cheeky Glam.
(sorry at work, cant spell check on this computer)

Cheeky Glam! Just email them for pricing.. they respond super quickly!
I have a phone consultation with Cheeky Glam next week. The ones I have gotten quote's for have been between 500.00- 1000.00. For all they do I feel like they are totally worth the price.

Have you contacted 'A Modern Dar Affair' their prices are reasonable. I have not booked with them but I have contacted them about their services and pricing. I have yet to make a final decision about getting a DOC.
