DOC/Planner worth the $??

I have already booked a bunch of my major vendors but I feel like I am having trouble personalizing the wedding. I got quoted $1500 for planning and day of services. Worth the money? Anyone have any experiences with this?

Personally, I think its a total waste of $$, but then again, I love doing the little details myself
