I have already booked a bunch of my major vendors but I feel like I am having trouble personalizing the wedding. I got quoted $1500 for planning and day of services. Worth the money? Anyone have any experiences with this?

Re: DOC/Planner worth the $??
speak to Fran from Dazzling Affairs! you have no idea.. how helpful they (DOC) are. and I can safely say that she charges less than that.

I personally didn't find a DOC worth it. I did it all myself and have no regrets

Yes, the right one. But I think your quote is way too high. Keep looking!

I know our DOC will be worth it. They are taking care of EVERYTHING the day of. I am so excited that I won't have anything to worry about
Just re-read your post....that is a very high quote! my DOC was $1500 for the entire wedding planning process. Yes, I would look around!

I agree. Too high. Try asking for quotes on VHB. You should get something lower.

I think the quote is too high for just the day of, what are the planning services??? Have you checked out laura from LA productions?

Re: DOC/Planner worth the $??
That quote was for day of and some planning, we already have major vendors so she offered to help with details, DIY, Decorations and theme stuff. You think just a DOC would be better?
Thanks!

My DOC is for the day of and has helped me with the planning. so I think your DOC quote was a la carte! I had already booked my vendors when I met with my DOC and that was back in May and since then she been helping me out.. for instance. my church backed out on me 2 weeks ago.. leaving me to find another church.. FH was the first person contacted.. I then contacted Fran aka DOC and she found me another church in less than 24hrs! she's helped me with finding an MC.. the list can go on and on and on and on.. well you get the point..

Re: DOC/Planner worth the $??
Francesca of Dazzling Affairs has been a God send!! First let me start by saying she charges waaay less than what you were quoted for day of services. She has been so incredibly helpful since we hired her in April that I wouldn't even know where to begin. She is worth every penny!!!
Put it this way, you are putting all of this time and money into your big day..what's a few more $$$ to relieve yourself, mom, fmil, moh of any burdends that day. If something goes wrong or things don't run smoothly you won't have to deal with it. It's like having a personal assistant/conceirge for the day!

Re: DOC/Planner worth the $??
I definitely do think it will be worth it. Some brides yes things do run smoothly but MANY times things go wrong, and why should you have to deal with it on that day. Yes you can have your mother, FMIL, MOH or someone else handle it but why make them work too, they're there to enjoy your day too, they don't need to handle situations and all that.

Re: DOC/Planner worth the $??
I personally didn't see the need for one but Kerie (ssdbk) became a DOC-She is a vendor here now. Her company is Legal Eagle Events.
She's an attorney as well so she can make sure your contracts look ok.

Re: DOC/Planner worth the $??
I am also using Kerie from Legal Eagle. She's been great so far and I just know she will be great on the day of. She really enjoys whats she's doing and it shows. You should call her just to get a sense of what she can help you with. I had trouble getting a hold of some of the DOCs on here - but with Kerie it was easy - she answered the phone and we talked for about a half hour that day. I was sold on her then and told her she was hired without even meeting her. I met her after at my RH when they had an open house and she came down just to meet me. I don't think that you'll be disappointed.

Re: DOC/Planner worth the $??
I saw a few other girls post, and i also hired Francesca from Dazzling Affairs (but as a planner) and she has been a saving grace for me! I think its worth the money just to have peice of mind that I wont really have to deal with the stresses of the day and she will be there to help me if I get caught up and get me back on track.
That quote sounds VERY HIGH for a DOC, I would definitely price them out

Re: DOC/Planner worth the $??
Thanks girls, I actually did talk with Fran from Dazzling Affairs but she must have been quoting for planning services as well. Could someone who used her FM me with how much you paid for DOC services only? Also, if you used her for DOC only, did she help with the rehearsal dinner?
Thanks again everyone!
