fertility treatments? I currently teach in Catholic schools and they don't cover anything.

Does anyone know if the DOE covers anything at all?

Thanks!

I do not know from personal experience, but a friend of a friend (who was a DOE teacher) had in vitro, and my friend made a comment about most of the cost being covered by insurance.

Who do you use for health insurance? I use HIP. I wonder if your carrier's web site has any info. I have found my insurance to be very good- I have been hospitalized three times with my asthma and I did not have to pay anything.

I have cigna PPO and b/c of the church's view on science and conception, they don't cover anything.

We will most likely need IUI or IVF and we really cannot afford to pay thousands of dollars in fertility treatments. A friend took out a second and then third mortgage on her home in order to conceive. That is just insane to me.

Thanks!

Wow!

Are you thinking about getting a position with the DOE? There are a lot of different providers too, and I am sure they don't have restictions like the ones you have to deal with.

Good luck!

I used to work in a Catholic school and they didn't cover birth control pills either. I guess I see where they are coming from, but you already make so much less in Catholic schools that it ends up being another incentive to leave
