I am in contact with a headhunter and I have to email her my resume tonight. I am interested in a few different types of jobs... she knows this as we discussed options earlier. What should I do with my objective then?

I didnt have an objective, they know you are looking for a job so why do you need an objective.

Thats what I thought also. I was thinking she might foward the resume to potential jobs, and then an objective wouldn't make sense because it would different for them all. But I was taught in college that you always must have an objective.

Re: Does a resume have to have an objective?
a SUMMARY (of qualifications 3-5 lines) replaces the OBJECTIVE these days...

Re: Does a resume have to have an objective?
I've found that unless you have little job experience or are new to a field, you don't need an objective. My objective would be: To make as much money as humanly possible while working the least amount of hours necessary.
See why I don't put one?

Re: Does a resume have to have an objective?
When I was using a headhunter after my first job in the city, they said I needed an objective. Nothing too specific, but something like, 'To obtain a position that will utilize my interpersonal and organizational skills, and my background in medical and cosmetic research.' Good luck!

That's exactly what I was going to say. I took a workshop last summer and this is what the book says on the summary of qualifications
It should be a concise statement summarizing experience, areas of extertise, technical or professional skills, traits and any distinctions. The summary emphasizes key information detailed in the body of the resume. Since it includes the strongest arguments for hiring, use key words that match what your target market desires
