Does anybody else not care about their weight anymore?

Original post by nov2004bride

I have decided not to care anymore. I am very happy at my weight (even though slightly overweight) and I am sick of people saying to me, 'Aren't you on a diet? Aren't you getting married soon?' I don't care. Of course I am not going to eat like crazy but I enjoy food and in these months leading up to my wedding I want to be happy!! I think I look very good in my dress and it fits great. I just wanted to vent! Thank you

Another thought is that as your wedding gets closer you will probably lose weight. I had to have my dress taken in again a few days before the wedding - it's just a mix of stress and nerves.

I CARE!

But a only recently got engaged and am going to be a bridesmaid as well as a bride in the next year. I am keeping a journal, working out at least 3x per week and trying to convince myself that lettuce is just as good to snack on as chips....

But in the end the dress will help find my imperfections, but for now I will do my part to be HEALTHY!!!

I think the next time someone asks if you are 'going on a diet for the wedding,' you should just reply by asking them the same, as in.. 'Why? Are you going on a diet for my wedding? That's so great for you.' I agree to just go for healthy and feeling comfortable in your own skin (figuratively). People need to worry about themselve and butt out!

Depends on the mood. I've had a hard time accepting there is a big difference between the body of a 20 year old and a 27 year old. I've gained about 15 lbs in that time and I'd like to lose 5 of it. If I don't its not that big of a deal because my BMI is 21.9 which is good. I eat well most of the time, go to the gym and don't smoke. I think I'm much healthier than I was when I was 20. I'm not Britney and I don't want to be her or that freakishly skinny girl Paris Hilton. I'm me and thats that.

Rock on, Allison! You have a great attitude. As if brides don't have enough to worry about with all the planning, we're supposed to suddenly change our basic shapes, too? Women are beautiful in all shapes and sizes, and we'll all be gorgeous brides!

I worked out alot before my wedding, not just to look better, but for stress release as well.

Now that the wedding is over, I think I'm a little more conscious of my weight. I think alot of us tend to get a little lax when we're comfortable (I know I do), and I don't want to let myself go.

I agree with the stress relief.... think about it...when you go to the gym or even for a walk now that the weather is nice.... it's just you...you're time. No phones...no work.... no parents....no planning....just YOU!!!!

That's important for all of us!

I dont care anymore either. When I look back at pictures or if I find old clothes that dont fit anymore I get a little upset but overall I am happy as a person and with my life. It matters if you are healthy, right?
