Does anybody know anything about bugs?

Last night I went to check on the boys after they were sleepinglike I normally do and there was a bug on the wall near one of the kids. I got a napkin and killed it. When I squahed it red blood came out. Does any body know what type of bug has red blood? I hate bugs and have a cleaning person in my house everyday so I am a little concerned. Especially since it was in my sons bedroom
