Does anyone else feel...

Re: Does anyone else feel...

other then my sister (MOH) i have 3 bridesmaids. it was like pulling teeth to get them to order their dresses. the worst part they are my cousins. i thought by picking family it would have been easier.

i don't really need help with anything but offering would be nice. when i was in my cousins bridal party i offered to help in anyway possible. & i also would call her once in a while to see how everything was going.

i have a small bridal party (3 BMs). Two of them are 100% into it. The other one is my sister, haha. She could care less, but I knew that when I asked her...I was just surprised she said she wanted to be a bridesmaid!

I have 9 BMs!!! out of the 9 I have 4 who are very helpful and genuinely seem excited to help me with whatever i ask. 1 (my MOH) is away at school so i dont expect her to be as involved but when i ask her for help she tries her best. The other 4 have done nothing to help and dont even seem interested in helping!!

it can get a little frustrating but sometimes i forget that only another bride to be can ever be as excited, detailed oriented and on top of everything that needs to be done!! that's why i have you ladies..when i need to vent, get ideas or just have a laugh i log on!

How will they know what you want if you don't tell them? JMO.

they will not know if you don't tell them, however they should never just not call you to even see how you are or anything like that AND just go for their fitting and just have their hair done a certain way the bride likes.

as a friend in general, wouldn't you call to see how your 'friend' is doing or to say hi?

(This is not an attack on you Laura, i'm just generalizing)

Oh I completely agree with that. But it seemed like Blondie was referring only to wedding related stuff, not the general 'hey how are you, just wanted to say hi' phone call. That's a whole different story.

i dont really expect them to do all that much besides buy the gown and be there on the day. and also help my sister planning the shower. I know some of them are into it but theres one or 2 (i have 9 total) that are hard to get hold of and stuff which has been frustrating.

I don't ask for help.. I rather do everything myself because I am a control freak. All they need to do is attend the shower, deal with the bachelorette party and show up at the wedding looking amazing. Other then that I do everything myself.

I just haven't asked them do anything yet, although I'm 8 months away, and I think its time that I start asking for help. I may host a dinner one evening with all the girls (and mom and FMIL) just so we can all get on the same page. But 1st I am having lunch with MOH to see if she needs help with the bridal shower and bachorellete party.
