I have the same problem. I always feel bad for calling in sick, and I only call out when I really am sick.

thank you!
me, too... and then I feel like I'm lying.
My fiance wants to know if I'm gonna keep the emergency room bracelets on forever. I feel like keeping them on until I go back to work so they believe me!! lol

yes, but then again, when my coworkers take off, I don't feel bad because I don't take off unless I need to. They take off bc the sun came up that day.

I used to until I had to work the Friday before the wedding...now I am thrilled to tell them I'll need 2 days off soon...and if I ever get sick, I'm staying out...out of my 2 bosses, one of them is always sick...

My stomach's still really weird... and I just feel weak. might have something to do with not being able to eat anything.

95% of the time I only call out when I am really, really sick (sometimes I go into work sick because I hate to stay home from work and they tell me to go home to rest up), but I am not going to I have stayed home once in a blue moon (maybe once every other year) just to take a day to myself. But I only do that when I really just need a day for myself.

I feel so guilty that even if I am sick, I still go in to work.

Re: Does anyone else feel guilty when they stay home sick from work?
I don't feel bad at all. I REVEL in it. Especially when I'm not really sick. I call them 'mental health' days.
There's no reason to feel guilty! You have sick days just for that reason. If your co-workers arrive to work deathly ill, spreading germs around, that's their problem!
Seriously though, this thing where corporate America gives you days off but punishes you when you take them is BS. And they have no right to know why you're taking paid days off - it's none of their business.
When I take time off, unless I don't have any paid days left, I don't give a reason. If I'm asked, I tell them it's for personal reasons. It's not up to them to decide what's a good reason or not. You don't need a reason.
