Does anyone else feel like limos are a waste of $$?

Does anyone else feel like limos are a waste of $$?

I suddenly feel like limos are a lot of money, we already left a deposit and i'm happy with the company i just feel like its a lot of money for transportation. We need our limos for 5 hours since church and reception times are far apart. I was wondering if anyone had any creative suggestions. We are only getting one suv limo 1150 plus service. I tried to do point to point but it wasn;t cheaper. I could care less about the limo is the FH. Thanks girls for listening.

For us it is a waste, and we aren't getting them. But we have a really unique situation, which is we live in Roslyn and we are getting married (ceremony and reception AND afterparty, and we are spending the night in their bridal suite with butler) at the Royalton IN Roslyn...So we are not getting limos. We live 3 minutes from the RH!!

yes! i think its a waste of $$$, i'm not getting them. all my groomsmen has cars and i do too. from my house we are all heading to OWG to take pics and from there we will be headed to my rh for the ceremony, etc... i didnt think we need to pay someone $$$ for several hours just to wait around for us -- i think thats ridiculous!! ;) JMHO, HTH!

P.S. i rather use that money to upgrade my rh package/ photos/ videos etc! :) those are waaaaaay more meaningful :)

we took monorail when we got married in vegas...I drove my own car to the reception in Montauk.....so I kind of agree.
A cool antique car or horse drawn carriage might be another story.

There was no way I was spending money on limos. I got married at the RH and my step father drove us there. That was all I needed.

We didn't use limos, but both our families live w/in 5 minutes of the church, our reception was almost immediately folling and the RH was 10 minutes away, and we did not have a bridal party other than MOH and BM. Our BM actually decorated his SUV w/cans for our ride from the church to RH, it was funny.

I think its good because it keeps the bridal party together so that everyone is together to take the pictures. You wouldn't want part of your bridal party getting lost in another car or something. Plus its fun!

Depends...getting a fancy limo is a waste because in reality you just need transportation for a large group of people, but think of all the stuff we get that FH thinks is a waste? And this is the one thing he actually cares about.

On the practical side, though, it's a lot easier to keep track of people in the BP when they're all in one car.

I agree. I dont trust anyone to be on time ever, i'm certainly not going to start on my wedding day. especially with us taking pictures at a separate location beforehand, its a lot easier to have everyone together.

It's a necessary evil if you are not getting married at the RH and are also taking photos elsewhere.

It's fun and I'm sure the BP will have a blast. It's a treat for everyone.

I guess it could be considered a waste, but it's a nice treat like MrsCastanedain09 said. This way you, your parents, and your BP don't have to worry about driving, and you can just enjoy your night. We're having a Limobus for FH and I and the BP so it's going to be like a mini-party in the bus! I'm actually very excited about it.

Yep, we feel the same way. Luckily we don't need them but we agreed early on that we would do car service like BostonCoach before getting limos. Sorry no creative ideas yet.
