I do- in my cheek and above my left eye. I went to the doctor, who brushed it off as tension. But I don't know- I even got them on my honeymoon, when I truly had NO tension at all. I am thinking about going back to the doc, but I hate that I have to push so hard. I really don't think it's tension-related.

I feel your pain (no pun intended! and hope your doc has some answers for you!

please check out this site:

www.clusterheadaches.org/comparison_table.htm

it gives a description of different headaches. maybe it will help.

i was diagnosed with complicated migraines.....let me tell you, they lasted all day, practically every day. They were soo bad. I was on medication after medication.

I also was diagnosed with complicated migraines about a year ago. I never before experienced such severe headaches until I hit my 30s, and when I did start getting them I was miserable and convinced something was really wrong.

Until you have headaches to this severity practically every day of your life, there is NO way you can describe how miserable it feels!

For me, its been trial and error for a few years as to what works in helping my headaches subside. No OTC medications help me at all - as a matter of fact, the neurologist I'm presently seeing tells me that most OTC medication makes the migraines worse rather than better, or you will experience 'rebound' headaches . And since my migraines are'complicated' they do not respond well to the typical migraine medications such as Imitrex.

As Andrea said, Feverfew has been proven to help the symptoms of migraines and is a natural remedy that has some success in some people. I used to take Feverfew in combination with 500mg Magnesium , and Melatonin at night (to help me sleep) . It helped them a lot, but then just stopped working

About 6 months ago I was at my wits end the pain was constant and daily. I was prescribed a tricyclic antidepressant (Notriplytin) which also has been shown to be successful in 'some' cases of migraine patients. I'm on the lowest dosage possible, and it took a few weeks to get into my system - but its truly been my 'miracle drug' and has worked better than anything I've taken yet.

However there have been some nasty side effects (the worst of which is contributing to my gynelogical problems, making my periods more irregular and severe) And it def. makes you gain weight - that said, with the anticipation of TTC in the coming months, I have to go off this medication

Sorry for being so long winded - I just wanted to share my experiences with this horribly debilitating condition. The key is finding a really GOOD neurologist who specializes in HEADACHES, who will give you a full work up (including an MRI to start) and will be best able to determine which type of headache you actually are experiencing. Some people think they have migraines when they actually have sinus or tension headaches - and all types of headaches are treated differently.

Good Luck Heidi and I hope you (and all the other headache sufferes on these boards) feel better soon

We should have our own little support group!!
