I need to vent!!! Does any woman feel like they are doing everything on their own? I am doing this all by myself with no help from my fiancee!! Even when I ask him for a guest list...he says IDK? ***! Please tell me I am not alone here? Please!!

WOOOOOO I totally understand you. We were debating whether to push up the wedding date to 2009 and when I said ok so what does ur guest list look like give me numbers he just said ummm idk i dont have one I just invite ppl... OMG!!!

I swear, guys are either so lax they could care less about the wedding, or they're so wound tight that every decision has to be long and laborious and drawn out for months. Are any of them normal???

My FH had shown no interest in wedding planning all along, which was fine by me bc this way I could get things done the way I wanted, and he is rather clueless about this stuff anyways. Unfortunately now he is starting to get opinions on things, and he is just getting in the way, but he is not doing the things that he has to do, like get our rings (hello, 6 weeks to go, still no rings) and get his GM gifts.

hell yeah girl, we are having our e party next week and i did EVERYTHING!!!! he helped out a little. i mean he does work a lot, but i feel so overwhelmed with just the planning for the eparty...oooh im in for a ride with the wedding!! he's cool though, he's interested and he'll help when he can and put in his sense, but this wedding planning is crazy stressful...no wonder women turn into bridezillas!!

omg I said this to him yesterday....No body is helping I have to do all the research and I am lucky if he listens to me when I get back from djs and photos since I dnt go to any of them with him....His family is no help 2...

Sometimes it is worse to have him have tons of opinions... then you can't always get what you want- you have to compromise.
I can understand your frustration... but FH and I have totally different taste and we disagree often.

Honestly, I embraced it
DH had two responses to any wedding related question that I asked him throughout our engagement.
1) No. Meaning that he hates the idea and really really really doesn't want us to have/do whatever it is I'm asking about.
2) I don't care. Meaning 'yes, dear' or 'whatever you want dear' ... basically, that I should pick whichever will make me the happiest.
So we had the wedding of my dreams, without anything that he objected to having.
He just didn't care about color schemes or flowers or BM dresses. Most men that I know don't have opinions on these things, and getting upset because they don't care about the little details that we care about just isn't productive.

I do most of the planning and handle all the little details. FH tells me that whatever I want is fine -- he just wants me to be happy. But every now and then he'll express a strong opinion about something -- he was dead set against having a monogram caketopper (of all things) and actually said the words, 'It's my wedding too' at the bakery, lol. Sooo, no caketopper. Not a big deal. Who knew he hated rhinestones so much?

I can definitely understand where you are coming from~DH didnt want anything to do with any of the planning, but it made it that much easier to make decisions~>I just did what I wanted
I will say however, as a girl and a bride DH told me one thing that made the stress and aggravation easier to deal with. Yes the wedding is about both of you but the attention is always on the bride, to people its 'her' day....guys just arent as 'swept up' in the whole thing as us girls are.
So just decide what you want and show him and be done with it.

My FH is the same way. He told me from the get go that the wedding itself to him is not important, the marriage is....he said he didnt want to be involved...the only thing he cares about is the budget and making sure the RH wasnt too far...he didnt want to go to suffolk.
I accepted it!
I enjoy having all my freedoms in choosing everything but it would be nice if he had some opinions

MOST men are like this! My FH wanted to book a reception hall without even thinking through who he wanted to invite. How can we book something with a finite capacity without knowing our guestlist?!?!? He just didn't want to sit down and think about the guestlist.
Another guy friend told me he received my invitation but hadn't opened it up yet! I was like 'do you know how stressful it was to get those made, stuffed and mailed?' The least you could do is OPEN THE STUPID THING UP!!!

Thank God I am not alone! After all is said and done he tells me he appreciates all I do. Sweet huh? He is driving me crazy lol. Oh well, i don't want to hear it when some of his friends dont get invited to the wedding because I didnt know he wanted them to come.
You guys are right. I am just going to do the best I can. He will find out about the plans on our wedding day lol
