...reception that's ending REALLY late??? We're having a Jewish ceremony so we have to start at sunset (should really be an hr after but that's TOO late). Our arrival time for guests is 7:30 which means our wedding isn't over until like 1:30 in the morning!! I know it's too late now to change, but isn't that SO late?? I don't know what I was thinking!!!???
Part of the problem was that I wanted to be married outside and we're planning this wedding in 7 months time... when we called the caterer all the dates were taken already. When we said Sunday, his whole family went crazy b/c they're all OOT guests. I mean, it is a hotel and ppl can stay over, and we're also taking over the lounge after the wedding and having a brunch the next day.
I wish there was a way to change it. I hope people don't leave early. That's my biggest fear so far :(

ha, i'm the complete opposite. MY ceremony is at 10am. I think i would rather the late wedding!!!
I think 1:30 am will be fine.. People will get a hotel room!

mine is ending at midnight on a Sunday. I was concerned about people leaving...but I realized that those that are having a good time will stay til the end...those that are sitting on their butts waiting for the dessert course so they can get out of there, will do so regardless of the time.
don't sweat it...just make sure YOU shake your booty to the very end!

If you do your cocktail hr first then your ceremony then you could end it earlier.

Our rabbi suggeted this, but Jeff missed the CH at his Bar Mitzvah and he's scarred for life! LOL He swore he'd never miss another cocktail hour again!!!!

The younger people, your friends will all stay! Our wedding ends at 12am and FH grandma said she has to leave early. I think its just an older person thing. Don't worry its one night I think people can stay out and celebrate with you!

I'm a friday night from 8:30 until 1:30am. I was concerned people will leave too because they'll be tired from waking up early for work. But we talked to alot of our guests and most them are taking the day off or leaving work really early so they shouldn't be too tired if not at all. I know the older people will leave. But that's one of the concerns we voiced to our DJ/MC. Just make sure everyone is constantly awake and moving around and we should be fine. Don't worry. All that matters is that you and FH stick around!

Our wedding ends at 10:00 PM on Sunday and we were concerned that was too late. But in the grand scheme of things we decded that those that were having fun would stay to the very end no matter how late. Some people leave early no matter what time it is. You can't avoid that. Just concentrate on YOU & FH having a great time.

Our reception ended at 1 am and I didnt notice ANYONE leave early. In fact, the staff was kicking us all out because we were hanging around too long after!!

ours end at 12 or 11:30 we have to push the cerimony time ahead to 6:30 (sunset is at 7)so we might only have a 45min cocktail hr

My reception will not end til 1am..I don't mind it at all..If guests want to leave, they can! I will be there til the last possible second!!!

Our reception will end around 10, but I went to a wedding last year that ending much later and even though some people wanted to leave, they stayed because they thought it was rude to leave before the Bride and Groom did.

we're having an after party on a boat, which leaves at 12 and prob won't get back till 1:30/2- can't wait!!!! I'm a big night owl, so this is my favorite time!
