I have a sweep train also that will bustle. I didn't want a long train--they look cumbersome to me, and I remember my sister's first words after we arrived at the reception hall, 'Get this thing off of me!'
It is less formal, but it depends what sort of event you are having--mine is in the afternoon in summer at a restaurant, so I thought this was fine. But you'll look beautiful no matter what!
