Does anyone else's family make a HUGE deal out of....

Christmas Eve? I LOVE it! We have like 40 people at my grandmother's house and have SO much fun. My cousins and I always have a pool tournament and my father tells my little cousins stories, and usually Santa comes, but none of the kids believe in him anymore, so this year will be my first Santa-less Christmas Eve All of the grandkids (most of us in our 20s!) were protesting the no-Santa policy this year, but we lost But anyway, I just love our huge 8 course meal and the sea of presents in the living room. So much fun!

My own family - no

FH's family (that live here) - yes
His cousin is having 24 adults and god only know how many children at her house tonight.

Can't wait.

I love it! And it's nice because JT's family does nothing today, but they have a family GTG tomorrow, so now I have something to do both days

Not any more, since all of us are grown and out of the house, but my mom will still do the feast of the 7 fishes for dinner

This reminds me when I was small. I use to LOVE it and I miss that.

Yes my family does....and this year I'm hosting it I'm going to the store at 1 to pick up the fish (but Mom's cooking it)

I was getting sad last night because I was saying to JT how all of us are getting older now and will have families of our own, and someday we won't all be together. But then he made the point that no one else he knows has a HUGE Christmas Eve like we do, so chances are it will just continue to grow every year. That made me feel better

My family and Tom's family both make a big deal out of both days!!!
Which causes some toruble for us since they live far apart.....
But I love it!!!!
When I was growing up, we would all go to my Grandparent's house at like 5 and play downstairs and open all the presents from our family and then leave and go to midnight mass and come home and go to bed.
then when we woke up in the morning, all of the presents would be downstairs waiting for us.....
it's so much fun!
I feel like a little kid during christmas time! maybe it's because i'm still at home and there's still a big pile of presents downstairs like when i was a kid......

i'm such a brat...i love love love presents!!!
we all still get together christmas morning as a family and open up our presents like we used to when we were kids.....the four kids and my parents.....
i guess this'll be the last year for that...
i'm breaking the tradition!

Oh boy, my sister and he boyfriend sleep over my mom and dad's every Christmas Eve because we refuse to open presents any other way! I know JT and I will continue to do this until our kids are older. My parents did it with us! We're suckers for eachother, so we can't break the tradition!

i dont' think we're allowed to bring outsiders into this tradition! my sister has lived with her boyfriend for 3 years, and he doesn't even come over in the morning......
