Christmas Eve? I LOVE it! We have like 40 people at my grandmother's house and have SO much fun. My cousins and I always have a pool tournament and my father tells my little cousins stories, and usually Santa comes, but none of the kids believe in him anymore, so this year will be my first Santa-less Christmas Eve All of the grandkids (most of us in our 20s!) were protesting the no-Santa policy this year, but we lost But anyway, I just love our huge 8 course meal and the sea of presents in the living room. So much fun!

My family makes a big deal out of everything - we even make stuff up to make a big deal about. - The Sunday after Thanksgiving Kris Kringel Pizza Party. We are really bad. DH calls it 'hoopla' a term that has caught on in our family.

Funny story - My cousins adopted an 8yo boy. This little guy had not experienced much of a family life before his adoption. At first he found all of the 'hoopla' overwhelming, partly because a good deal of it was surrounding his arrival. One year later he starts to realize that not all families are like this. On Thanksgiving he tells everyone that he is so happy that he got a family loves to hoopla!

FMIL is having pizza tonight. Its like a big holiday, you'd think she'd at least cook dinner if not a huge feast. I'm upset and I'm Jewish.

ETA: She doesn't even have to work today. She has the whole week off. How hard is it to stick a roast in the oven?

well our families decided to mess with us and they're both having dinner at the same time...so we don't know where we'll be for dinner this year!
