FI, and a few family and friends and getting married? Lately, I've been thinking about this a lot. About all the money we would save, and be able to purchase a house? I've felt like this a couple of times, but I also want my dream wedding. Just had to vent. Sorry.
Just spoke to FH and he said that he'll go along with whatever I want. He wants me to be happy. Goodness what to do.

I actually wanted to have a ceremony in our church and then with the money we saved....have a house, and a backyard wedding with a tent. FH didn't care for this idea...but I am really happy having the whole reception and wedding. We can always save money and buy a house when the time is right!

All the time! I've been married before so I already did the big wedding thing, but FH has never been married and actually wanted the whole church / reception thing. We compromised - church and reception but small and top quality. I still think about a destination wedding in Hawaii with a few close family and friends though!

I second guess my choice to have a wedding daily!!! I just keep thinking that I do not ever want to regret not having one so I might as well go for it!

It just seems like a lot of work, ton of money, and mega stress for a day that will pass in the blink of any eye!

We put deposits on everything. But it wouldn't bother me to lose $2000 compared to $40,000.

True!
If you are seriously considering it and are leaning toward it, I say do it. It's your wedding and you do not have to do what everyone else does. I think a small dinner sounds very personal and romantic.

its a lot of money but im having SO much FUN doing all the planning i have not yet felt any stress! But if you are seriously thinking about it, maybe sit down and do a pro and con list and see which has more pros, it will be beautiful either way, just dont do anything if you feel you may regret it in any way, good luck!
