Does anyone have a great taco salad recipe?

Taco salad???

I thought that was the same ingredients as a taco just mixed up.

Chop meat
Tortilla chips
Cheese
Salsa
Sour cream (optional)
Lettuce
Tomotoes diced


Or are you talking about Mexican Dip (Swamp dip)?

taco salad recipe!

havent' ever tried it but have tried others from here and they are yummy.....plus its kraft so its good!

I have one.. my aunt always made it for me & my cousin when we were kids. I dont know if it's really 'taco salad' but it's sooo good!
You need:
A VERY large bowl!
1 lb. ground beef (or chicken)
1 large bag Doritos Nacho Cheese Chips
1 (8 oz.) block cheddar cheese
1 (8 oz.) block monterey jack cheese
1 (16 or 24 oz.) can red kidney beans
1 medium onion
1 very large or 3 plum tomatoes
1 small to medium head of lettuce
1 large or 2 regular size bottles Catalina dressing

Anything else to taste - you can add green pepper too, that is really good. I prefer the larger can of kidney beans and a little less meat.

Cook meat until well done. Crumble into large bowl. Chop cheeses into small (1/4') cubes - add to meat. Chop onion, tomatoes and pepper (if using pepper) into bite-size pieces - add to bowl and mix. Drain and rinse kidney beans - add to bowl and mix some more. Open the bag of Doritos just enough to let the air out - then proceed to crunch up the chips until they are nothing but crumbs with a few chunks Add to mixture. Pour dressing over entire mixture and mix well. Refridgerate for 2 hours or until cold (hey it's good warm too, but I like cold) I keep the lettuce shredded in a separate bag and just add it to each serving so it doesn't get mushy.

Serves 6-10

Thanks. I think there are so many different variations of this recipe. The one I tried had ground beef,lettuce,tortilla chips or nachos crumbled up in it,black olives and cheese. It was soooooo good.
The chips weren't mushy either.

I think I will make this for myself this week when FI is working.
