Ummm. Sort of. I am a legal secretary and I just started at a new firm, so I like it to a point, but I'm still at the stage where I'm still learning how to do things and it gets frustrating. I don't mind being a secretary, but I think I want to be one outside of a law firm.

I love my job. NO ONE BREATHS DOWN MY NECK. I only see my boss for our direct report meeting, just the way I like it. It is a fortune 500 company so micromanaging would be utterly pointless.

I do... but it took me a long time to get where i am! I am a Television Researcher for a network and i can honestly say i LOVE and am interested in what i do... i wasn't happy in a previous employment so i moved onto another job. my boss is great, my coworkers wuite nice, and i get to watch TONS of TV!

We work in the same industry. I like what I do its very interesting to me. I just don't like my commute!!!

I used to like it, not so much anymore due to many changes and reorganizations my company has undergone in a short period. I am a marketing promo manager for a btob publisher. The hours can be long, there is a lot of BS/bureaocracy to deal with and personalities that I clash with lately. The biggest stressor is that one of the main goals in my job is bringing in revenue through marketing promotions....creating a budget and sticking to that plan/numbers which can be affected by lots of external factors.

The good things, aside from the benefits, are that I wear many hats, work with many people including outside vendors so that makes the day interesting.

If you asked me this 6 months ago, I would have told you that I'd rather have root canal 5 days a week for 8 hours a day.

Now, I love it. I just hope it lasts! I work in music publishing. But the fit is about to hit the shan with my company.

I'm a legal secretary/assistant and used to love my job ...

But in essence, its not what I DO that I love -- it was where I used to work. I LOVED my old firm. It was the perfect law firm: midsized, not to stuffy, very laid back, partners were cool, had tons of friends, work was interesting, and even though we worked really hard, they treated us very well. It wasn't a place where you might be paid the highest salary compared to other firms, but people were really happy and the better quality of life was worth the tradeoff.

Then I moved to my present firm a year ago. Not my choice, really ..My boss was leaving the old firm, started a new department here, and took his clients (and our entire practice group along with him). All I can say is .. UGH. He is a wonderful boss and I am very loyal to him, which is why I made the move. It wasn't a money thing at all, either. At the time, I thought it was my only choice. I've regretted it ever since!

This is definitely NOT the type of place I ever wanted to work for. Big corporate firm, too structured, very snobby, SO Strict with rules, etc. Just not nice people, overall.

My job is essentially the same, and my immediate boss is still the greatest boss ever, but I work for THE FIRM, not him, and that makes my life miserable most days.

I still like what I do, overall .. just know that I have to make a switch in environments, in order to be fulfilled.

I don't mind my job so much as the commuting. If I could work in queens or li doing the same thing I would be great.

I wouldnt say I LOOK FORWARD, because Im up so early.
But I can honestly say that I LOVE what I do.
Im a high school Special Education teacher, and I also teach a reading class. I find my job self-rewarding, especially with my reading class.
I have a student who is in 9th grade, and is on a very LOW reading level. He is a great kid, but has such low self-esteem, and does NOT read in his classes, because the kids make fun of him.
I have been working with him since Sept., and have seen nice progress.
I just spoke to his mom the other day, and she said that he is picking up books at home, and trying to read them. I got chills down my spine

I love speech-language pathology and working with the kids on my caseload (school based and early intervention). I don't like all the Sp. Ed. paperwork!

Ahh my friend boogiedownbride, to find your dream job think of what you love THE MOST! Your fave hobby, etc. Which is why I chose TV. Horrible but I LOVE IT! I used to work in the music industry but it was bad hours, ugh. And I am not ashamed to admit I LOVE LOVE LOVE watching TV, reading about TV, etc. So I went back to school and got ANOTHER degree in communications.

Funny you should ask...I have to say i love working with the my clients...I am a psychologist in a psychiatric/developmental disabilities facility...and it is the most rewarding job i can think of. They have really changed my life.

BUT...and this is a BIG BUT....The so called 'normal' employees...well some of them are the ones that make work and wanting to go to work the most difficult
