Does anyone have a job that they go to and can honestly say they look forward to going?

Both Jim & I don't hate our jobs.

ME: Insurance Assistant to a group of 7 International Brokers. I work at the Largest Insurance broker in America which means we have perks!! I handle fortune 500 US based clients in regards to their overseas exposure in Liability. The only thing I don't do is sign stuff. yeah me!!! I love my job. Talking to our offices overseas everyday listening to all the different accents and such. I hear all sorts of interesting stuff from my worldwide counterparts. It's fun. Yes, I file and do stuff I hate, but overall yes, I do look forward to going to work. Which explains why I have never called in :sick:.

My previous Job I was a Senior Claims Representive handling all Auto Claims and a portion (alpha order) of Litigation files. I had an idiot coworker to judged me all day everyday and was an overall ****. I had a Boss who was sweet but blind to office crud, I was underpaid and never praised for a job well done.. my last review said 'Someone said they heard that someone else knows you spoke about this person, therefore we find you non-compatible with your coworkers' He said, she said about me and I got slammed.
HATE HATE HATE that job! I was responsible for crap that i KNOW I shouldnt have been and at the top of the ladder I had no one else to take the heat.

JIM: Assistant to a Financial Advisor. He loves it. To the point of INSANITY. He's underpaid and doesn't care. He could be half sick or there maybe 2 feet of snow and he'll go in. He says it's because he loves the details of the job and the talking to clients.

SO yes,.. we both love our jobs.. it's great conversation over dinner!

Nope not one of those classes. I was blessed this year with wonderful kids. It's study hall!

I love teaching middle school - my kids are the best!
but i'm not crazy about all of the administrative cr@p that goes along with it...and the parents

I agree - I teach 7/8 grade students with learning disabilities as a resource room teacher. I LOVE the kids, I definitely agree about the down side!

Totally agree Lori,

In my district they could give to craps about the 7th graders. Everything is for the 8th graders and the poor 7th graders get nothing extra- I am speaking academically - all they think about are the DAMN state tests!

I do! I love the people I work with...my boss is also the best. I am the Director or Retail Systems...so everyday there is something new...whether it's a use issue (I love proving people wrong! They say the system is wrong and I prove that they did something incorrect!) That's so much fun. Or, I work on special projects...implementing new technology and/or training people on the right way to do things (my way!).

The only part I don't like is the politics...I'm the type of person who says it like it is...and sometimes, when talking to executives...I need to sugar-coat things rather than tell them that their people are idiots. Sometimes...I'm not so good at that part!

The best part...I have great perks...and an awesome salary.

Like the teachers who posted, I love being with my students, but I can do without the administrative BS, especially from the Chancellor's office. I can also do without getting up so early. But I can't imagine doing anything else and getting so much satisfaction out of it.

not here - I guess there's a lot to be said for teachers - you all seem to like your jobs - I guess I'd have to like kids though

I actually do, its not high stress. I work in a small family like company.

Ive been here for 4 years and I never had that ygh feeling.

But don't get me wrong-- boy did I go through ALOT with previous jobs to get where I am now!

I work for the best company in the WORLD !! I do promotions for their magazines.

and want to know something crazy? FH LOVES his job too!

At 28, this is the first office-type job I've ever had. And while I hate the office environment (the fake professionalism and all the beaurocracy), I love the majority of my job responsibilities. I feel like I'm making a difference in the world.

The only things I like are the benefits, the hours, 401k and having weekends off.

I literally Hate my job.

The only job I do like, is my car detailing business which I do in the spring, summer, and fall. I just wish I could afford to open my own shop, sadly I cannot

I used to really like my job! (LOVE may be too strong of a word) I still enjoy the basics but the environment has changed and not for the better IMO in the past year! And i am getting sick of the commute!
I work in Marketing for a architecture/engineering firm in NYC

As for teachers, everyone here loves their jobs BUT remember there are teachers out there that do not! Those are generally the ones who got into it for the wrong reasons (vacation etc) If you have a strong love of childres/people, a desire to help and patience, then I think its a great career, but I think its one of those jobs that you have to LOVE in order to do well!

I love what I do, Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management for an investment bank but I really don't like the company I work for. My boss and peer are great but the company is stingy.

The job itself I LOVE
The lack of benefits (coverage, time-off, salary) I HATE!!!!!!!

Me also. I love what I do and that is R&D chemist for skin care products. I work for a start upcompany so I have many many other annoying job duties, but when I get to experiment and create new products I have lots of fun!
