Does anyone have a really small ring size?

Does anyone have a really small ring size?

I am a ring size 3, and they just told me I might not be able to get a diamond band because they would have to take out so much of the band it would put too much pressure on the diamonds and they might pop out. Has anyone else heard of this?

I have a 4 1/2 and I am getting diamonds. My cousin has a 4 and she got diamonds. Both of our rings were made for us. Where did you go? You should try the diamond district in Manhattan.

What? a size 3? Wow! I have no advice but if you think about it, that's sounds like it might be a legit concern.

What type of band were you thinking, a band with diamonds all around on just on the top half?

I am a size 4 and have a diamond eternity band with no problems. Wow a 3 is tiny...maybe she should check with another jewler.

Try Gemport in Northport. They're great there. I was told I could get my ring sized for the same reason but they were able to do it and did a great job.

I am a size 4. The band that chose has diamonds along the top of the ring. Once the band is resized it will look almost like an eternity band.

I would get a second opinion.

Try Maddaloni Jewelers in Huntington. They are great.

I didn't want diamonds all the way around--just the top half. They said they would have no problem with a size 4, because they actually make molds that size, but for the 3 they would have to make a new mold and the pressure might be too much on the diamonds. We first went to Zales and then to Bailey, Banks, and Biddle and they both said the same thing.

Try Cambridge Jewelers in Roosevelt Field Mall that is where I am getting mine from and they will have to special order it. Try to talk to Allen if you can.

Hmm, ok, why not ask them how many diamonds you can have for a band that size? It's might only be like four but you may want to consider a compromise.

I am a size 3.5 and I got a diamond band. I've had no problems with it.

How many diamonds were they able to fit on it? The one I wanted had I think .75 CT with I think 8 or 10 diamonds? But they said even going to .5 CT I would have a problem.

I wear around a 3 also (3.25 actually), and although I didn't get diamonds, I did find that I had to pay a little extra because the ring I had to come from a 'special' mold...pretty stupid if you ask me, considering that alot less metal is going into it! But anyway...I'm assuming that you're having trouble with the particular ring you're looking it because the manufacturer doesn't make it in a size 3 (many start at 4), and the jewler is concerned about how to make it smaller without losing the diamonds.

That link to Blue Nile shows some nice stuff, and it's cool that they have the small sizes. At least you know that you always have that to fall back on, but in the meantime, you might want to try some other jewlers to find someone who works with manufacturers who either make the small sizes as stock, or are able to make a custom size for you.
