Does anyone have a remote starter in their car?

Was it installed by the dealer?

How much did it cost?

I can't believe how much they are charging us! I'm wondering if its the norm!!

my g/f has one installed...not by a dealer...about 3 years ago and I think it was around $180.

check those radio instalation places. They do it also!!

I had one installed for my DH truck at a stereo place. It was about $250. It was extra is you wanted the same remote to start it and open the locks. Otherwise you'll have 2 to carry around. Also something about the chip in the key. We had to give up a our second key so they could use the chip...extra of course. A real pain in the butt!

To boot, orr starter is very tempermental, it doesn't start 25% of the time....anyone else?

I have one. We got the dealer to throw it in at no extra cost. I had to get rid of my Mobil Speed Pass because it interfered with it and caused to stall sometimes. Since I got rid of that, everything has been fine.

We have one on our Maxima. The person my husband bought the car from had the dealer install the remote start and then he had to ge a new one. He went to that car place on Northern Blvd ; right across from Alley Pond golf range. I think he paid under $200 and the guy installed that day. We only had towait about an hour.

I love remote start in the winter. The car is nice and warm.

My mom has one on her new Highlander.
Talk about a pain in the butt!! She always forgets to mention it, when anyone borrows her car!! I went to visit a friend in Hewlett while I was up in NY last month, and I clicked the lock button twice by accident and it automatically starts the car. I sat in my friends house with the car running for 20 minutes, b4 her husband noticed it!!

I dont know what she paid for it, but my mom wanted to treat herself with this car so she had it hooked up with all the bells and whistles whne she ordered it at the dealer.

But I think that come winter time, it will be a very hand thing to have!!

I have a remote starter that was installed at a stereo shop about 3 years ago. It cost me $200.

However, when I wanted to have the DEALER put one in, they wanted to charge me $400!

Dealer and it was a promotion they were running that weekend so we didn't have to pay for it though I am sure that we paid for it!

I have one.. My MIL got it for me last year.. she got it at Parkway Car and Stereo.. It's cheap..

Can you imagine that the dealer syas he is giving me a 'good deal' at $545?!!!

And this is down from $695

Time to make a phone call!!!!!

We've had them installed in every car except our '03 Maxima (interferes w/the headlights/hood lock and the dealer recommended we not have it installed.)

Our installer comes to our home and hooks it up. I don't think it cost us more than $200. I'll have to ask my DH.
