Does anyone have an updated M&V Limos experience

M&V Limos is the house limo company for the Hamlet WW. I get a call from Gary at least once every 2 weeks. I did a search on these boards and found some not-so-nice experiences, but they were a couple of months old.

Does anyone have a more recent experience?? I really want to make sure the company is reputable before I put some $$$ down, as we need 3 limos plus 2-3 towncars for the grandparents.

Hi Karen - I have not yet booked my limos, but have talked to Gary - after he called my house like 8 times in 3 weeks. He is very nice, but fairly aggressive. Their prices seem to be on par with everyone else (more or less) but my girlfriend used them last summer (2001) and they told her before the wedding day that gratuity was included, and when the time came, they wanted a tip. She told them I thought the price inc everything and the driver was firm that it did not. She was ****ed, too.

Thanks for replying. I'm having a similar experience with Gary. He calls my house every other Saturday!!! I usually just tell him that we're still 'assessing' our limo needs, and I'll call him back when I'm ready. He still calls!!

Another bride had a similar experience as your girlfriend - thought the tip was included, but the driver said it wasn't.

I don't think any limo company has a 'spotless' record, but I'm still iffy. Even though the Hamlet WW recommends them, what the heck does that mean?? By the day of the wedding, it's too late if something goes wrong, and by then everybody has their $$$.

I think I'll keep researching.

I booked them- well before any of the more recent problem posts. I am also a Hamlet WW bride and never once did anyone call my home. I think you should call the new manager at the Hamlet and tell him about M&V's sales tatics. Not a plus in my book.
So far M&V have been great. The cars are in great shape. The service and prices (so far) very fair. I am going in next week to pay my balance for my Nov.2 wedding and I KNOW that tip is included in the price. I will confirm and remind the guys that the drivers better know upfront their tip is already paid. And even if a driver insists it isn't I will have a copy of my contract with me- tough. He can take it up with the owner of M&V if he doesn't like it. And a tip is NOT something that should be demanded. It is earned. A driver who fights with a couple on their wedding day for a tip automatically doesn't deserve one. I will also confirm the week before and day before all cars, arrival and departure times etc...
So as of right now I am happy with them. On 11/3 I can give you a FULL report.

You must be getting so excited - your date is so close!!!

I have so much time, I may wait and see what your review of M&V is. I was debating calling Denise about M&V, but so far Gary is pleasant when he calls, not really pushy, he just calls constantly!!

I know some of the problems that the other brides had are easily fixable - I had planned on giving the limo company directions to everything, anyway. We give a copy to the photo & video people, how hard is it to shoot off another copy?? Granted - the limo company should know how to get around, or at least ask, but I'm not taking that chance.

I have them booked for our wedding Sunday and both me and my FH used them for our BP parties this past weekend. They were a little late but we all had good experieces with them. That tip thing that Michele talked about was an issue...driver didn't say gratuity was included (nor did the contract say it was) but Mark at M&V told me it was since we got a deal since we are booked with them for our wedding. All is all they have been very nice and their cars are really nice too. I will report back after our wedding again, although we only have a pick up and a drop off scheduled with them for our wedding.

Karen- just to give you some words of advise: I PROMISE time will fly by. This time last year I was over a year away and it feels like yesterday.
Try to get the stuff you can out of the way early. No matter how organized you are, the last month is crazy busy.

I booked with M&V for my wedding this weekend. We called and confirmed. Hopefully it all goes well. I will post my reviews after my honeymoon. We are going to tip them seperate from what was written on the contract.

I also booked M&V for my wedding this upcoming Sunday, 10/13. I'll give everyone a full review upon my return. We booked the Party Bus and a 16 passenger Lincoln. I am confirming tomorrow morning.
