I saw this dress tonight and I really like it - but I'm concerned how much it can be taken in - they tell me I have to order it soon or I will not be able to get it. I want to try to lose a lot of weight now that I'm basically done with school. They tell me they 'should' be able to take it in up to two sizes - but I'm really not sure. I don't want to wait and then be told if I am still interested that I can't order it b/c not enough time - but I don't want to rush to order it now and find out can't take it in if I need too. It is an Amalia Carrara. (and NO this is a different dress from the one I was looking for before

First, that dress is beautiful. I ordered my dress 2 sizes smaller than I was, and am now a little smaller than the size I ordered. It CAN be done! The pressure of having a smaller dress helped me a lot with motivation.

1st this place sounds like they are trying to get you to buy right away i would check another place that has the dress. ordering 1 year out and having the pressure isnt right and to tell you you have to order 2 sizes bigger so way get your size now and let them alter it. ive seen bridesmaid dresses go from a 14 to an 8 with alterations seamstresses are miracle workers.

I LOVE it. I'm such a fan of Amalias Anyway, they told me the same thing-that if I didn't order right away I wouldn't be able to get my dress. They told me it takes 10 months to make. I am sure they can get it in MUCH sooner, because when I was looking for dresses with my friend who is getting married this coming June, the 'arrival time' mysteriously shortened as she was looking only 6 months before her wedding. Then it was 'the dress will take 4-5 months to come in'. That dress is relatively new, the stores didn't even have it yet when I was looking for mine. (around Jan/Feb) Don't stress out, I'm sure you will be able to get this dress if you wait a couple of months.

well corrine there was NO pressure - they told me I can wait to end of July to order - The catch is with altering a dress that is fully diaphonous top layer with crystals and design on it -
I don't know that I will go down 2 sizes but if I lose weight I want that option. They tell me no problem at all but my mother is less sure of whether that is really true. I am going to Kleinfeld's on Sat so I will see what they say - the dress is ONLY carried in 2 stores in NY
