AMAZING!!! Excellent food, albeit pretty expensive. The atmosphere is beautiful too, it's right on the water. It's part of the Crescent Beach Club so maybe the reviews for that would help too.

What's this for?

I am looking for someplace to go for V-day.

What a romantic I am - that never even entered my mind as a possibility.

It's a great restaurant. However, I would prefer it during the day or twilight hours. Otherwise you lose the effect of the beach setting. If you're doing it Sunday, go for it. If you're waiting until actual v day, I'd pick somewhere else. The $$ is for the view and if you're going at 7:00 at night, there is no real view.

Mirabelle's in St. James is outstanding. It's small, great atmosphere for a nice, even romantic dinner. I dare someone to find better French food anywhere on the Island. It tops a lot of NYC French restaurants as well. You cannot go wrong. But if you're thinking for V-day, better call.

yummmmmm..outstanding.

Country House - very nice atomsphere but the food is just okay. If you are going to spend that money - you can definately find better restaurants.

Mirabellas - Wonderful, the food is excellent. But also expensive.

Panama Hatties - food is good but you have to like that type of food. They offer unique entrees.

One you didn't mention but is wonderful, is The Mill Pond House in Centerport - food is excellect, service is excellent and it overlooks Mill Pond and it is a very romantic setting.

Joe and I went to Louis XVI last year for Valentine's Day and it was fantastic! I highly recommend it.

My sister and BIL have gone to Panama Hattie's several times and they love it.

Let us know what you decide.

= Very pretty, old-fashioned house, I was there a few years ago and it was a bit 'worn-looking'. Food is not particularly memorable.

4.Panama Hattie's
Huntington Station

= I found the food too rich and filling, but the place is very nice and the service is excellent.

8.Aix en-Provence
Huntington
Get intimate with French fusion

= My favorite of these three. Outstanding food and service. The piano-player gives a nice ambiance and it is a very romantic room.

I don't have reviews of those restaurants (I need to get out more!), but if you're considering the Garden City area, you might want to try the Wine Cellar at the Carltun. There are only about 20 tables so it's very intimate and the food is incredible as are the wine pairings. The 5 course pre-fixe is about $100-125pp I think and it tends to have a lot of fish, just to warn you in case your FH is not a fan. They have an incredible beef wellington though. Have fun!

Panama Hatties is sensational. It looks like nothing from the outside, but when you walk in, it's beautiful-- and the food is outstanding.

I have to disagree with some of the other ladies about the food-that is the place where FH proposed we were off in a corner all alone and the food was Fabulous!!! I sent everyone from work there and they all agree-it can be a very romantic setting-apparently FH asked for a secluded table and the ambiance was magical.

I have been their several times! I really love it, it is kinda $$ but very nice.

However, FH is freinds with a lot of the the people that work their and I dont know if I would like it as much if we didnt know the chef and get the extras!
