i AM RECENTLY ENGAGED, AND I HAVE ALWAYS DREAMED OF BEING MARRIED IN THE CHURCH I GREW UP IN. hOWEVER IN THE LAST FEW YEARS I HAVE NOT BEEN A PRACTICING CATHOLIC. I WAS TOLD I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO BE MARRIED THERE BECAUSE I AM NOT AN ACTIVE PARISHONER. DOES ANYONE NO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS . PLEASE HELP I AM JUST HEART BROKEN ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF NOT GETTING MARRIED THERE. THANKS
I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND WHAAT UR SAYING I HAVE EVERY INTENTION ON RAISING MY FAMILY WITH A RELIGOUS BACKGROUND.I KNOW WANTING TO START A FAMILY AFTER MARRIAGE I THINK THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO GOABOUT GETTING BACK INTO THE CHURCH. I ALSO MADE ALL MY SACRAMENTS IN THIS CHURCH SO HOPEFULLY THAT WILL HELP. UNFORTUNATELY THERE IS A NEW PRIEST WHO I DONT KNOW.

it really depends on how much the fee for the church is to begin with. then add i dont know a few hundred to it...but only if they give you a hard time...dont approach this until you ask the priest first
like i said before technically i dont think they can deny you if you are a catholic

i had issues trying to find a church, so i feel your anxiety. defnaately speak with the priest first. get an appointment as soon as possible. and dont lie. dont worry. are you in the vacinity of the church so geographically it is your parish too? if so, i think you are more than fine....
My church has a set fee its $625. That includes the church and the music.
THANKS AGAIN I APPRECIATE IT. WELL I AM SUPPOSED TO CALL 2MORO THE PRIEST WAS NOT AVAILABLE TODAY . AND THE WOMAN ISPOKE WITH WASNT TO HELPFUL.I REALLY APPRECIATE ALL THE FEEDBACK!
YES I RECENTLY MOVED AROUND THE BLOCK FROM THE CHURCH.
dont stop nagging them is my main advice cuz my FH worked in a rectory and he has said that they way they avoid nonparishoners is they dont return their calls. That is what happened to my parents on their anniversary. My mom called 5 times and they NEVER got back to her so she ended up going to another church...and the church that never called back was the church they were married in!!!!!

St Rose of Lima in Massapequa. My friend got married it was $500 for the church and $200 additional for the music.
wow that is crazy...i havent had to deal with that thank god since that is FH's turf
good point...last i heard about it was that fh brother wanted to give us the money for it as part of our gift...so then i REALLY wont have to hear about it lol
i am hoping someone will offer to pay it for us but even if we do its all good it could be worse
