get extremely insulted when you don't take their advice or make the decision they wanted you to make? I am going crazy right now with this! I can never make a decision without someone thinking that I did not take their advice and getting insulted. I am so frustrated I hate having disagreements with people I love

Luckily no but I would politely tell someone that the decision is yours to make and although you appreciate their input you would prefer to do things yourself. My parents when we first started planning asked if would need their help. I said that FH and I would prefer to make the decisions ourselves and they were fine with that. Don't let it bother you!
