Does anyone have really bad back problems?

I have a bad back and have been going to accupunture. It used to work but not any more. I am in awful pain and I just don't know what to do. It has been a week now and I am going mad!

What do you do?

Re: Does anyone have really bad back problems?

I used to go to PT, but evertime I stopped going the back pain would come back. The I started seeing a chiropractor, but I haven't been in months. He was making my back feel much better and even since then I haevn't had any terrible pain. Try different options because different things work for different people.

Re: Does anyone have really bad back problems?

I went to the Dr when it first happened...They ran tests & came back with nothing major...He gave me tons of stretches that I have to do everyday....I have my good days & then there are those horrible ones...I can feel that tomorrow is going to be horrible bc it is going to be cold...I also started to go the gym more to build my lower back muscles up so that it helps to support.

Re: Does anyone have really bad back problems?

What kind of pain? Have you tried a hydroculator? It's this kind of sand filled (I think) heating pack. You soak it in hot water and then put it on your back. Moist heat helps with muscle tension which can cause back problems.
I go to a chiropractor for my back problems so I would recommend you try it too.

i had the same thing last year but until i had an mri i didn't know i had the disc prob.

did you have an mri though? do you have arthritis?? what kind of doc. did you go to??

the orthopedist gave me tests too - like bending, reflexes, etc...it didn't show anything...then i insisted that i go for the mri even though he just thought i had a back sprain

Re: Does anyone have really bad back problems?

I have hernitated discs that cause me to be in both muscle and bone pain pretty much every day. I used to do PT and when it lessened I stopped. Now with the cold though it's starting up again worse than before. The cold can trigger it to hurt more. See an orthopedist if you haven't and get an MRI

Re: Does anyone have really bad back problems?

back problems suck, it has been a year since my accident and I still experience back problems... some days are worse some are better, I pretty much got used to the pain... I went to physical therapy, accupuncture, chiropractor, they all helped... what the most important thing to do it exercise and make sure that you dont sit or stand for long times... if you sit at your job a lot make sure to stand up, stretch, walk around a little...

Re: Does anyone have really bad back problems?

Some of our friends have bad backs, they recomended the Select Comfort Sleep Number bed. We just ordered one but it wasn't come in yet. They have a 30 day money back garantee. They have a store in the Smithhaven Mall.

Re: Does anyone have really bad back problems?

I have disk issues in the lower back but nothing that the Dr. would want to operate on. I do the stretches and I swim and do accupuncture. However, I don't know what I did this time to aggravate it. Since I teach, it is hard to sit, stand, too much. I hate being out of work but I just couldn't handle it!

UGH!!!!!!!

Re: Does anyone have really bad back problems?

you could do anything to aggravate a back issue - pick something up, stress etc...

did you go for a massage that may make you feel alot better
