Does anyone have wedding insurance?

I was just on weddingchannel.com reading about wedding insurance, is this something people get? Do I need to have this?

We bought it...I saw it on TheKnot.com and we both felt it was necessary.....you never know what may or may not happen....I figure if you have a couple of hundred bucks to spend its worth it.

Totally unecessary IMO. Only recently has that become popular. God forbid something happens where you would have to postpone or cancel the wedding, but in that case I think most vendors are very accomodating.

I purchased a policy from Wedsafe and I think for the coverage you get it was well worth the money. It does not just cover you for weather but for many other things as well. Think for instance, of what happened to a bride on this site just this past week when she discovered her catering hall is out of business less than 2 months before the wedding. She is out the money she gave them. The policy I had covers such a situation. Think also of the people who have lost money with vendors who disappear taking their deposits or videotapes with them. Bridal shops go out of business. Again these are items that are covered. Illness on the part of an immediate family member that causes cancellation or postponement is covered, even loss or damage to wedding photo's. Just my opinion but the price you pay is based on the coverage you want and it is certainly reasonable. Better to be safe than sorry especially these days.
