about how much a string quartet or even a trio costs for the ceremony?? I'm thinking of squeezing some extra money from somewhere to get a trio or quartet ... hopefully I'll be able to pull it off

Re: Does anyone know..
I don't have my contract in front of me but I think mine was around 1,000 for the ceremony and cocktail hour (quartet).

Re: Does anyone know..
My sister is looking at a string quartet for her ceremony and I think she said it was $800 for them to be at the church playing for 15 minutes before the ceremony all the way to the end.

Re: Does anyone know..
My coodinator at Flowerfield suggested to me that I call the Music Department at Stoneybrook University. She said the students play at a lot of ceremonies at Flowerfield and they do an amazing job and it's much cheaper to hire them. I spoke to Martha Zadok in the music department and she was very nice. She said that she will send students to do the ceremony. When I asked the price she said that it's up to each student what they want to charge but usually it's $100 per hour. We are only going to need them for an hour and I'm think three or four will be good so that will only be $300 - $400! I'm so happy we finally saved on something. I'm sure they'd be willing to go to East Wind for your wedding since it's not too far from Stoneybrook. FM me if you need a contact # or have any other questions!
