I have been pricing around for to get my hair straighten. I have called
Lemon Tree (which the owner would be doing it) Chemical straightening is $85
Studio 24 in Sayville Japanese is $250 and for the Brazilian straightening is $250
Every where else I call cost higher close to $600 and higher.
What is the difference between Japanese straightening and chemical straightening? I am so confused any help would be great or if you know a good place to go that would do it for a good price. Thank you
**********UPDATE********** I got the chemical straightening done and it took but there are a few pieces that are still wavy can I go to have the Japanese straightening done or do I have to wait now a little while? I am sorry I didn't listen about doing the Japanese straightening instead of the chemical straightening the stylist said this would be better for my hair and he said my hair would be healthier. Now what do I do? I feel like an idiot cause I went in wanted the Japanese and he said your hair is a little wavy and you just need the chemical straightening you do not need the Japanese straightening. So I listened and thought OK it would be better for my hair and it wasn't. I am sorry girls for not listening to you's.

Okay... I had my hair chemically straightened before Japanese came out. I went to a very high end salon...and spent all kinds of money. I was so excited to be able to wash it and see straight hair right out of the shower. So the next day I was my hair...and it was less curly...but not straight. Then I put a comb through my hair...and the entire top left and back middle of my hair FELL OUT. No joke. It grew in fast..but it was terrible. I do not recommend this to anyone. I had never colored my hair before this treatment...and it still happened.
Fast foward like 6 years... my salon keeps asking me to do the Japanese and I keep saying no..because I hilite my hair and wont give that up. So I went there two weeks ago and they told me about the brazilian straightener. They said it made your hair a lot softer, less frizzy, but NOT pin straight. I got the treatment, couldnt wash my hair for 6 days... and when I did, it was very soft, smooth, less fly aways etc... but still wavy. I recommend this treatment for ppl with coarse or burned hair. It works wonders.

See i want my hair to be pin straight. I also have colored my hair before and permed my hair. I haven't colored it since Dec 2006 and I had the perm done two years ago. I really want to do this. I want either the chemical straightening or the Jappenese straightening. The chemical straightening is by ISO but I do not know if my hair will come out pin straight with this. Does anyone know anything about it or how it will work? The jappenese straightening I have no idea what brand they are using but I am not sure if I want to pay $250 when I have to save for a wedding. I look at it like that $250 can go towards the wedding but then I look at it like I want my hair straight. Is it really worth spending the $250 for the Jappense straightening or should I just try the chemical straightening by ISO and see what happens? I do not want to waste money.

My opinion is do not do the chemical. It can destroy your hair...and you wont be happy..because it wont be pin straight. Wait for the holidays, and have FH give you (or put money towards) the japanese...so you wont feel like you are wasting money. JMO

i understand the whole paying for a wedding at the moment thing but dont damage your hair to do this either. I mean when doing something like this its better to search for someone who does a good job rather than just the best price, sometimes you get lucky and find a great person who knows what theyre doing, wont damage your hair and for a good price. I think thats the point people are trying to get across, dont pick something just bc its the cheapest one.
Im sorry but there are hair dressers out there who do things and damage hair. Even real good ones, i know of one who does all the big model names hair and he just causes so much damage bc to him the immediate look is more important, he did my hair once and it wasnt great.
Japanese hair straightener you do about every 6 months.
also if you spend less money now just to see what happens then you might end up paying more after to fix it...you dont have to do it now i would save a little each week to put towards it, you said you want your hair straight for the wedding so it would be for the wedding.

I am an 07 bride crashing, but the regular hair straightening at lemon tree is probably just a relaxer. it will NOT make your hair pin straight so you don;t have to blow it out o iron it. I had it done once, I have very gently wavy hair, and even my hair was not straight. I still hd to iron it. Its a giant waste of money IMO.
If your going to do something, dp the japanese hair straightening. Its expensive, but you will have the stick straight hair.
Or do what I did, and buy a crazy expensive wet to dry CHI hair iron. Cost as much as a japanese straightening, but lasts for years.

Lemon tree does chemical straightening by ISO now do you think that would be a waste of money to do? I really want to get this done I am just not sure which one to do.

Yes, I had it done at a more expensive place. Biggest waste of 90 dollars Ive ever spent. I just had limp curly hair.

I have wavy hair and it is thick. I am trying to find an easier way to do it in the morning. I do not even know of were to get this done the Japenese straightening that would do a great job and be a good price. Do you have any idea?

I know people get it done in Flushing at the Asian hair salons for cheap, and that they do a good job. I'm not sure of where. It takes like 6 hours though.

go on the 08 board bc quite a few girls have gotten it done, and also post on BHB...i know theres a couple of girls who get it done in queens
as far as getting it tonight not sure, some hair salons wont book japanese hair straightening after a certain time bc it takes HOURS to do.

and i agree with Jax, i think the one for $90 is just a relaxer which means it will only last a month so in the long run it will cost you more money

I am still looking for a salon that does Japanese straightening. Does anyone know of any salon in Suffolk county that does Japanese straightening? All the salons I am calling only do chemical straightening cause they said Japanese straightening kills your hair. Any help would be grateful.

I think Japanese and Brazilian straightening are less harmful to your har (that is why it cost so much more). Although I have to say that a friend of mine had her hair done (Japanese) and she lost some hair because it burned it off.... and when your hair starts growing in you have to get it done again because you will have straight hair on the bottom and curly close to your scalp.
