bride's parents to have a dance at the wedding. My Mom seems to think that she and my dad are suppose to have a song that they dance to alone at our wedding.

I don't think that I've ever seen it done....but you can start your own tradition....there don't seem to be anymore 'rules' to follow

I don't know if it is a tradition, but my parents are going to do it. They want to dance to the song 'Grow Old With Me.' It's a really beautiful song, and I would love to take a moment to honour them for everything they've done for me recently with the wedding and throughout the course of my life.

Just a quick question, will you be having both sides parents dance to a special song, because I have a feeling (I was going to do an anniversary dance for my parents, they will celebrate 27 yrs when we get married) my FH's sides might get a little upset???

Re: Does anyone know if it is traditional for the
At my sister's wedding, and I plan to do this at mine, my sister dedicated my parents' wedding song to them...it wasn't a spotlight dance, but they did dance, and so did everyone else! I'm going to do this for both sets of parents at my wedding!

i don't know about tradition, but we are thinking of dedicating a song or two to our parents, just in good fun and to show our appreciation. i don't know if it will be a 'solo thing', but either way i think it's something nice to do!

never heard of it but I would think it would be a little time consuming to have a dance with FI, your dad, hima nd his mom and then each of your parents. Its hard to keep peoples attention for that long.

That's my same issue too, if I do it for my parents my FMIL will have major issues about it..but my parents anniversay is two days after my wedding.. so I don't know how to do it..
