Does anyone know of any fun, funky, trendy, unique dress stores in downtown manhattan?

My friend and I are going shopping tomorrow for her dress for her bridal shower (she only knows she's getting one, she doesn't know when it is). She wants something fun, funky, trendy & unique...can anyone recommend a couple of stores in downtown manhattan that maybe carries dresses somewhat fitting that description? I know of a few that I plan on going to but I'd like some more. Thanks bunches

the antique boutique on broadway by 8th street used to have real cute clothes...last time i went though they kinda changed a little bit the style but maybe you can try again...That whole west 4th, waverly and broadway area is good.

Also down in the 20's between 5-7th ave theres alot of stores

I work on Spring Street and I pass tons of cute little boutiques on my way to work every day, of course I can't for the life of me think of the names but if you go west on Spring from Broadway you will find tons of shops, also on Prince and Broome..really the whole grid from Houston to Canal and Lafayette to West Broadway has tons of amazing stores, although they are pricey!!

yeah be careful, downtown has become very expensive for shopping, not like it used to be

If you want to go uptown a bit, go to Pookie and Sebastion on 35th or 36th and 3rd Ave. They always have cute things and are reasonable. Precison is across the street and is also really cute.

Downtown you can never fail at Scoop or Intermix... but plan to spend! There are 1000's of boutiques, so have fun!

Go to the big H & M near Penn station and check out the new M by Madonna line....some cute dresses!

I got a whole bunch of cute tee's there (antique boutique) I dont' remember them selling dresses. I'll definitely be going there though.

All of prince and spring streeets have cute shops. and walking over there is fun as well.

They have everything there. I got a betsey johnson dress for 150 bucks...

Yes! They carry everything from Polo to Dolce and Gabana and their prices are really good. It is like a HUGE Marshall's but for designer clothing, IMO.
