Re: Does anyone live with their FH but....

I've only slept at my mom's one night in the year and a half FI have been living together. We got into an awful fight and I had to be up really early the next morning. Instead of duking it out all night and being screwed the next day...I left for us to have some space and stayed at my moms.

I don't live with FH BUT am with him most of the time and once in a while we get into an argument and I usually go back home to get some space. So notexactly the same as you.....

No Never. The only time I sleep at home is when he is travelling. I dont believe in us sleeping at our parents house unless both of us are there. I made this a point early on.

I'm moving in with FH after the shower and I was thinking today that I'd probably spend one night each week at home to have that space and to do wedding stuff (but mostly for some space).

I'm moving in with Fh in the next few months. I already told him I'm going to stay at my parents house when it snows - since I will be a 40 minute drive from work and my parents house is only 3 minutes from work!

Nope - although when we first moved in together a year and a half ago, we got into a fight and he left and went to his parents house for the whole day and night....I was so upset b/c it just prolonged the argument. We talked about it and decided that although space is good, we need to work things out as opposed to leaving. Overall, I love living together and wouldn't change it for the world!

fh lives with me but sleeps at his parents house some nights to avoid the commute from LI to CT

FH's parents live in FL, so that's not possible. But we each own a house - so he has always had his own place to go to for some space. In four years, he's never opted for that space ....we've never had that need to get away.

FH and I have been living together since Jan 2004, and I have not slept at my parents' since we moved in together.

I do get my sister to come and stay with me if FH has to travel for work, though.

Never. We've had arguements since moving in together a year ago, but we've always stayed around to work it out. Personally, I just don't think it's healthy to leave for the night when you need space. What will you do when you're married? If I need space and sometimes when you argue space is the best thing for so you don't say something you'll regret (trust me on that one!!!) so if that happens, I go out for a drive or a walk and he does the same thing, but neither of us has ever spent the night at our parents house. Now that you live together, you have to be able to work things out.

No - my home is with him now. We've been living together for 2 years. I hate sleeping without him.

We've been living together for about 6 months and I've never wanted to wake up anywhere else but right next to him!! I'm gonna have a real hard time sleeping at my mom's house the night b4 the wedding bc he won't be there!!

Re: Does anyone live with their FH but....

ONLY when we travel to LI to visit my family (we live in CT) His family lives in CT too- and he NEVER sleeps there , esp without me...we live together now and even though there are times when one of us wants to pick up and go elsewhere when we argue, i dont think it is healthy for us, i think we should work it out together not runaway from it...we have talked about this and it works for us
