Husband and I want to start to research and look into buying a co-op in the Norteast part of Queens.
I don't know much about co-ops so could someone explain to me what its all about. Thanks.

Re: Does anyone own a co-op in...
We have a coop in Bayside..right near Bell Blvd and Northern Blvd. We really like it so far. It was affordable to us, and we are both busy all week so we don't want the trouble of a house just yet...So it works for us. FM with any questions! Colleen

My parents own in Douglaston. It has tripled in value in 3 years. Great area!

Thats exactly where DH and I are going to start looking in January! Just wondering if you have a condo or coop? I would love a condo instead of coop so I was wondering where there were condos in Bayside.

FH and I just purchased one in the Queens section of New Hyde Park, right off of Hillside. Great deal, FM me any questions.

The only condos I know of in Bayside are in Baybridge - up near the Clearview/Cross Island.

I believe House Beautiful (South of LIE on off of Bell) is also Condo's. They run about $300K+ to start. Besides that only condo's we found in our search were up by Bay Terrace shopping center. All of tem were $300K+ for 2 beds.

I think Windsor Oaks is co-op, Bell Blvd and 73rd Ave area.
In Whitestone I think the only co-ops are in Beechurst/Le Harve area

I used to live right near there...and those condos are EXPENSIVE!!! A 2br was in the 300,000's. Hence..I didn't stay in Queens and bought a condo in NJ.

Re: Does anyone own a co-op in...
My husband said he just did a job in the co-ops across from the Douglaston golf course. He said the one he went into was really nice.
It seems like we have been saving so long for a house but the prices are so unreasonable in North Queens. We really would like to own something of our own.

My FH and I bought a 2 bedroom co-op in Bayside (Hollis Court) so if you have any questions please feel free to FM. We looked at so many co-ops in Queens and when we walked in we knew it was the place for us - now 2 years later we're happy to be there.
