Re: DOES ANYONE READ/ SUSCRIBE TO FITPREGNACY??
I got it at borders, there is a little bit of everything in there, health, fashion, the reason I picked it up is b/c of the fitness part, I am so worried when I get preggo what I will still be able to do, so I was curious. A lot of articles are about women who still ran marathons, still did their weight training etc etc. I enjoyed it so much I read it at one sitting. Since this was my first I was just trying to get some feelers out there to see how regular readers feel about it.

Re: DOES ANYONE READ/ SUSCRIBE TO FITPREGNACY??
I read on baby center and somewhere else, cant remember that a woman who regularly exercises/runs can continue to do so
that a woman who never jogged should not take it up during pregnancy. When we started to TTC I asked my OBGYN if I can still train w/ my trainer , etc..... she told me that I can and I can still run while ttc and when pregnant even if your six months, if you did it before you can continue also she said I can continue w/ weights and anytime something feels heavy to not do it. She told me the woman who do exercise do better w/ pregnancy and labor than those that do not. HTH

Re: DOES ANYONE READ/ SUSCRIBE TO FITPREGNACY??
I read that in the magazine too. I was concerned about my African dance class and my step class, I was just wondering if those kind of classes are ok to take. I know weight training is still ok and I should not lift anything over my head etc, no lying on my back after my first trimester to do any kind of exercise.
I do not want to stop and it just scares me to think that I would have been inactive for 9 mos. I guess when that time comes I will speak with my Dr and we can see what I need to lessen and what is ok to continue.

I dont know about step after the first tri mester b/c of the whole 'balance ' thing what if you trip up? what do you mean about lifting above your head? do you mean weights? like shoulders? I heard this once but no one ever explained it to me

Re: DOES ANYONE READ/ SUSCRIBE TO FITPREGNACY??
Tammy, I saw a preggo young lady in a class that I was in, and she was lifting weights and I asked her, is that ok, she said her Obgyn told her it is ok as long as she does not do anything like shoulder presses etc, she did other things that we did, but her workout was definitely modified.

Re: DOES ANYONE READ/ SUSCRIBE TO FITPREGNACY??
I think when I go to my next Gyn visit I will get that clarified, if you go before I do, please ask her. I told the trainer that I was working with on Monday, in jest that I may be preggo and he said, hold on, are you serious and he got really serious and I said I am only kidding, b/c I was trying to get out a w/o that I was doing. He said if you are, you should be careful about your movements etc.

Re: DOES ANYONE READ/ SUSCRIBE TO FITPREGNACY??
I told my trainer to treat me as I am pregnant last month so if I find out I am I will not have done anything to jeopardize lol
so far we do the same stuff but he droppd the weight on some machines and some machines he told me get scratched off the list when you are 'far along' so he says like the one where you lie down and push w/ your legs
he said that one gets taken off the list when I get far along

That is what the trainer I was working with said. Be careful, this bothers me b/c you never when you might be, but they said that early in the pregnancy you should be ok.

Re: DOES ANYONE READ/ SUSCRIBE TO FITPREGNACY??
Tammy on Fit pregnancy they have a message board and there is one about Exercise and Pregnancy, you might want to take a look
yay, you can be preggo and not know till like 6-7 weeks etc.....
I hear about this overhead stuff from a lot of people and it concerns me to know I dont want to do anything harmful now or when preggo and all people say is no overhead lifting but do not specify
I asked my trainer and he said its taken out of context from somthing else and people ran w/ it? my dr. didnt mention it but Ill ask her next time I go or call, I call her w/ questions all the friggin time

Re: DOES ANYONE READ/ SUSCRIBE TO FITPREGNACY??
I did the same thing as well, I will ask the gyn. Fret not babies are troopers. I am more concerened about the pounding from the step class and my jumping in African dance not even weights, b/c I am not crazy to lift anything too heavy or nothing more than I normally do.

Re: DOES ANYONE READ/ SUSCRIBE TO FITPREGNACY??
my trainer said too much jumping is no good-- he said he gets 2-3 preggos every year so he hopes I am lol
he said the jumping, he has me do these leap frog squat things, I call them a frog thing b/c I feel like one when I do them will stop as will push ups on the floor
