It is going to be HOT when I get married so I wanted to wear flip-flops...will anyone really notice? I feel like I never see the bride's feet because the dress is so long.

If you have a big poofy gown then noone will see your shoes. Wear flipflops to make sure that you're comfortable.

My SIL wore white sneakers. We all saw them when she lifted her gown slightly to walk up onto the altar.

I wore shoes for the ceremony and for picitures...but once the partying really started, I was barefoot or wearing chinese slippers - no one noticed except for DH who said 'you're a lot shorter now.'

nah, I really wouldn't worry about it. Do what makes you feel comfortable.
The way I see it, if anybody is staring at your feet and worrying about your shoes, they obviously aren't paying attention to what's important, and they probably didn't belong at your wedding.
With the flip flops though, I just want to point out the one thing that saved my mother from having me wearing them: the click-clack flip flop noise. I didn't really want that happening as I walked down the aisle. So, if that matters to you, just make sure you find a pair that don't do that.

I know a lot of photographers take artistic shots of shoes and such, I have nice sandals to wear but once they get uncomfortable (and at the reception) I'll probably change into flip flops.

I thought of that too but then realized that the music will be playing so it shouldn't be noticeable - atleast that is what I'm telling myself
