does anyone's FH...

just NOT dance? lol i've slow danced with him but never ever got him to dance at a remotely fast song. and i'm a touch worried about the wedding

I am SO worried because our first dance will literally be our first dance. We have never been to a wedding together or out to a bar or club where there has been dancing so I have no clue. I think he dances when he gets drunk and his sister said he can actually dance but I too am VERY AFRAID

You're not alone. My FH is only dancing 2 times during our wedding. Our 1st dance & his Mother/Son dance. Oh well. I know how self conscious he gets & I've just come to accept it. Besides, everyone else will be dancing. I'll make sure I dance close to wherever he's sitting.

omg, that is so funny, mine does not dance at all...he does the 'chandler dance' from friends...oh such a no no!!! I love to dance, and can dance pretty well, so I am thinking of getting that video that teaches you how to dance...so he is somewhat less nervous....

He can shuffle his feet side to side...but I have to lead...lol...

I told him he has to fast dance at the wedding, only bc it is acceptable if you are the groom and can't fast dance, but I told him, he has to go all out then...and just look like a total fool, bc anything less than looking like he's having fun, will just look like he is miserable...so he might as well dance like a fool and have fun.

My FH doesn't dance either. He's extremely self conscious about as well. I think for our wedding he might try to dance with me otherwise it will just be our first dance and the mother/son dance!!

FH does NOT dance. he is very embarassed at his lack of rythmn. i joke with him that his dancing ability derives from his 'white' side. (he's 1/2 puerto rican and 1/4 irish, 1/4 german)

since there will be tons of spanish music at our wedding, he has insisted we take dance lessons so he doesn't embarass himself. i was surprised he suggested it, but happy!

Mine is definitely not a dancer either. I've seen him do the 'reel the fish in' dance with his twin sister when they were drunk at weddings but that's pretty much the extent of it.

hmm... take him to a nightclub one night, get a lot of drinks in him and just go out there and start dancing with him-- he'll get the hang of it and i think he'll end up really liking it!!

i'm sorry but my FH is quite the opposite-- i can't get his a$$ off the dance floor-- he'll dance no matter where we are-- elevator music, drs office, whatever!! it's sometimes a little annoying b/c he is always ready to boogie hahaha

same here. weve slow danced before but neither of us care much for other dancing. i figured well be running around talking to people so much that it wont matter..i HOPE

DH dances in private. But only to make me laugh. Which will give you an idea of his skill level.

But at the wedding, not only did he dance the first dance, but I also got him to do the electric slide! He didn't do it well but he was grinning from ear to ear and had a good time with it. That's what counts, not how it looks.

Now he wants us to take dancing lessons, because he knows how much I love watching ballroom dancing and want to learn myself.

my FH only dances with some adult beverages in his belly....He will slow dance!

i am soooo happy that i am not the only one with this problem! I can get him to go for the slow dances - but then he just leads me around in little circles until i get dizzy and i have to fight him to stop turning around and around!

i actually already warned my DJ about his lack of dancing - because I know sometimes they will ask the bride and groom to dance in the center during a fast dance . . . and FH would RUN AWAY! lol so the DJ promised to leave him alone except for the slow dances - actually that was like the FIRST thing that he mentioned after we got engaged. . . he he he

i just hope people dont think he is not having a good time because he isn't dancing!

my FH slow dances with me at home (he sings the Charles in Charge theme song to me while we dance sometimes because he's a nut, but it makes me laugh, so I love it!). Or he'll put on a Garth Brooks song and we'll dance to that - again in our home. We slow danced at our e-party. But NO fast dancing together EVER. We have a wedding this Saturday at Mohonk Mountain House, so I'm looking forward to seeing how that goes with the dancing situation! He doesn't think he can dance. His mom says he's a great dancer. He does this adorable little butt shake thing for me that makes me laugh (kind of like a Chandler funny dance thing like another girl mentioned) - but never any serious fast dancing. I'm a little concerned....

fh is a computer geek and thinks that there should be some magical formula i can give him about dancing. He can slow dance but that is it. I have no idea what I am going to do about him at the wedding yet

OMG ME TOO!!!!!..We have never danced together/been to a wedding together!

ugh... my FH does not dance. I told him he'd better figure something out before our wedding or I won't be a very happy bride!!

FH when we first started discussing the wedding:

'I don't dance, I can't dance, there is no point to dancing, dancing is not a sport, why does anyone waste their time'

FH after completing 8 weeks of ballroom dance lessons:

'This is fun, are we taking more lessons, do you want to continue taking lessons after we're married, there is a dance on Saturday night - let's go'
