not call your parents anything.. like not...

mrs... or mr...?
or first name...?

i mean just either avoid saying it or just never does?

my mom is driving me insane saying FH is disrespectful because he doesnt call her anything... its not like he deoesnt talk to them he does he just never says 'mrs... how are you?' he'll just say 'how are you'

I try to tell her that he does it to everyone, even his own family. I dont think i have ever heard him call a relative aunt .... or uncle... but if he is talking about them to someone else he will... I think it all stems from having step parents and not really knowing what to call them i mean he was like 6 when his mom remarried.

personally i dont think about who or who doesnt say my name or how often they do.. my mom has serious issues!

I mean its been 8 darn years. and my mom will not get over and randomly brings it up... now she got all PO and walked out...

i really cant wait to get married and move out!

He actually addressed them as mr & mrs (insert my last name here) for a really long time. I told him to call them by their first names but he said it's rude and he won't do it unless he is asked to. However, I recently noticed that he has been calling them by their first names. I don't think it is rude of your FH to not call her anything. I don't call his parents anything, it's just one of those uncomfortable situations.

i try to tell my mom that, he just grew up doing that and frankly i cant change him and i dont want to. I accept him the way he is he is perfect to me.

What does she want me to do about it?

I don't think he is ever called them by name at all IoI I dunno I will ask him what he would call them. I guess Mr. and Mrs. V. I doubt he would use a first name... even though I call his sisters by first name.

i actualyl did the same thing i avoided calling them anything for about 2 years.. i would just look at them and start talking then i called his parents MR. and Mrs. its just what i was tought to do so it just kinda stuck... since we got engaged im really trying to use their first names its a little more personal.. he on the other hand has always called my parents by their first names.

mine just avoids it w my dad which i actually prefer. i don't think i'd like him to call my dad 'dad'.

but sometimes he'll call my mom 'mom'. i think it's cute.

FH doesnt really call them anything. sometimes he will call my mom by her first name. he never calls my dad anything. Once we are married he said he will call them mom and dad. I really dont call his parents anything either.

Ha that's so funny.. my fh never really called them anything and just the other day my parents told him to call them by their 1st name.. funny you should bring it up at the same time haha
