Erica that is funny! So sorry!
Both of our dogs have marked our backyard path. When they are walked, they have two poles they go to. Actually ALL the dogs in my neighborhood stop at these two posts. There are 2 HUGE yellow circles surrounding the posts.

Arnold also does the 'squat and stretch' technique, and he is also killing our grass.

Erica, can you train your dog to go in one particular area of your yard???

If not, you may want to talk to your vet about supplements that change the acidity level of your dogs urine (which kills the grass). There's also a spray that neutralizes the urine on the grass.

Check out:
Green-UM Supplements
Dogonit Lawn Treatment

I don't know how safe the supplements are, so you may want to check with your vet first.

mine is 2 years old and he mostly squats, though he likes to mark when we are at the park so he lifts his leg in public! lately he has been going on our patio right outside the back door talk about lazy! i am getting pretty fed up with this. once it stops raining (it's been raining pretty much every other day for about a month down here) i may have to correct him if he keeps doing it. his sister is so dainty, she goes in the ivy, when no one is looking, so as to hide her little presents! and wouldn't even think about going in public! Boys will be boys!

We have a 3yr old black male lab who also does the squat-we like to make fun of him The only time he lifts his leg is if he's peeing alongside the fence where the neighbor's dog is, guess he's marking his territory.
