Re: does anything scare you...

Let me tell you about my experience. DH and I were married in 1972. Before Daughter, Debi, I miscarried our first pregnancy. I had no clue I was pregnant, and I was going about business as usual, cleaning , moving my piano, ...... I was a mess, so depressed, because I wanted a baby so badly!!!!! Mothers' Day at Church left me in tears!!! But GOD blessed , and I remember the day the nurse told me I was expecting!!!!! I was so excited!!!!! Collected baby clothes, thought about names, wondered if a girl or a boy, because back then, we didn't know. I had hyperemesis, and had to be in the hospital for a weekend on IV's. And, there were times I thought I was going to miscarry again, because of bleeding. I'm sure many prayers went up for me and my baby. Toward the end of my pregnancy, we were blessed to be moving into our first new house, built by DH. I thought, surely all the stress of moving would cause me to go into labor, but, I went a week over!!!! When I finally was ready to go to the hospital, I was in labor for about three hours or so, and had our baby before Lunch!!!!! What a trip!!!!!! YES, PAINFUL, even for natural birth, and 'back then', having an epidural wasn't mentioned to me!!!! But, girls, oh, the flood of love, in my heart, to look upon that precious face, and after asking if all the fingers and toes were there, was taken back by 'how could I have brought this dear little one into the world'? What a miracle!!!! And in the recovery room, I was so euphoric, I felt like I was floating on air!!!!!!
To be sure every girl's experience will be different. Before you choose to have children, pray about it, and then put it into THE LORD'S HANDS, including all your fears. Remember how much HE loves you!!!!!! Whatever you face with pregnancy, HE is more than able to be there for you!!!!!!

Yes...being a respiratory therapist in NICU and seeing all these premature babies on respirator, nitric oxide and with disabilities scared the heck out of me. I just want normal healthy baby (10 fingers and 10 toes).

Everything scares me...there's a statue in Port Jeff right by the harbor, in memory of a mother who passed away during childbirth, who was only 37 years old. That statue scares the hell out of me and I get upset every time I pass it.

EVERYTHING about having a baby scares me. Especially the part of having to care for something so little 24/7. I have zero patience now. Do you automatically get infinate patience when you become a mom?

Re: does anything scare you...

I had to think about this for a minute, because I have a degree in early childhood education, own my daycare program, not much about children scares me, not even the childbirth really because I've seen so many babies born. I think thing that scares me the most is when (I hope to) have a second or third child and not being able to share my time well enough between the children.

Oy. I guess I'm going to have some issues. I'm the type to get frustrated very quickly.

Re: does anything scare you...

The idea of BEING pregnant I find very exciting and amazing. HOWEVER, every other aspect of having a child scares the heck out of me! We haven't decided yet if it's for us - I told FH that we'll discuss it in a few years Luckily we are both on the same page
