Does Chocolate Spoil?

I have a bunch of chocolate bars that have light spots all over them. Can I eat them?

I really want to eat them

i know when chocolate gets that white filmy thing on it it's still OK to eat, I think it's a chemical change that does that but doesn't make it bad.

I don't know about spots though...sorry

From lj world.com :

'What are the white spots that sometimes form on the top of chocolate?

The white or gray spots or streaks, which is called 'bloom' in the world of candy-making, are caused by separation of sugar or fat particles from the chocolate. The bloom is not harmful but the appearance is not desirable.'

Eat away. . .

Did you have it in the refrig? Chocolate sometimes gets white spots from being in the frig.

Either way I don't think Chocolate really spoils.
