Does classical music go with a live piper?

My FH and I love the sound of the bagpipes! and they are very popular in the area that our church is located in. So we went ahead and booked one to play before the ceremony for the arriving guests and right after we say our I dos.
My question is... Is it weird to play classical for my bridesmaids and I???? I always wanted to walk down the aisle to canon in d but does it work now?
HELP, please give me any suggestions.
What is everyone else doing for the ceremony music?

i had a friend play the bagpipes at my wedding. he played as people were coming in to church and as they were leaving the church. it sounded awesome! i had classical music during the Mass and it was fine... didn't clash at all...
although playing the bagpipes IN church after your vows???? ... i don't think that's ever been done before-- and i have to say, may not be allowed INSIDE the church. personally, as a musician, i don't think bagpipes are appropriate INSIDE a church.... JMO.
