Re: does it hurt...
maybe I'm just a wus, but I think it hurts! I didn't buy the numbing cream in the beginning because it wasn't that bad, so I figured why spend the extra money? But after the first few treatments they turn the intensity of the laser up, and then it is painful, but the pain goes away after a few seconds. The technician should give you an ice pack to put on the skin right away, and that makes it feel better. Even though it kinda hurts, I would still recommend it because it is way better the the pain caused by waxing. Plus, once the hair is gone, it's gone for good!

Okay so don't ever listen to anyone that says it does not hurt. It does! But the results are awesome. I'm so happy that I decided to get it done before the wedding...it's the best investment by far. Good luck!

How many treatments did you girls go for? Was it a long process? I have 6 months before my wedding so I think that's enough time.

Re: does it hurt...
When I first went for a consultation, during February of last year, I was really surprised to find out that the entire process takes over a year! I just finished my 6th and final treatment, but I still have to go back every few months for touch-ups. However, six months is still enough time to get a few treatments in. And even that will reduce the amount of hair by alot so it will be much less noticeable. If you really want to get started before your wedding, you probably can. But just make sure to tell them when you're getting married so they don't give you an appt. too close to your wedding day, since the laser can really irritate your skin.

It takes a whole year for what? To have your legs treated? I was thinking of having it done too..

Re: does it hurt...
I had laser done, and I would do it again!!! BUT...it does hurt...it feels sort of like a rubber band being snapped against your face or leg or what ever area you do. However, it hurts much less than threading, waxing and electrolysis.. I would def do it again

Re: does it hurt...
thanks for the info-although i think now im even more scared cause some of you said it hurt-i guess people have a high tolerance for pain or they lie when they say it doesnt hurt. ill probably be crying when i get it done.

Re: does it hurt...
it takes at least a year because the hair grows in different cycles. The laser only kills the hair folicles that are currently growing, so you have to go back every month or so in the beginning and then less often towards the end to get rid of all the hair. I wouldn't worry too much about the pain. It's definitely not completely painless like some companies advertise. But with numbing creme, or even just ice, the pain is definitely tolerable, AND so much worth it with the end result! good luck!

It hurts but it is not the worst pain in the world. I highly recommend it.

Re: does it hurt...
I had it done a few times (intend to go back when I have the $$) and it does hurt. Not terrible but I had the legs, bikini and armpits done and it does sting. I can't imagine if it would hurt more on the face. I think the results are worth it.

i worked with a woman who had this done under her arms. she said the pain was incredible. i resigned myself to shaving after hearing that.
