Does it make a difference if.......UPDATE

a deacon marrys us? We are not doing a full mass-only a ceremony. The priest my church has now we are not comfortable with, there is a huge language barrier.

Update: The deacon called me back & he is available. He is the sweetest man & he speaks perfect english!!!

Yes I spoke with my church & told them the way we felt-they reccomended the deacon. She said he is ordained by the church, just can't give communion.

Yes! I am only having a ceremony and it is being performed by a Deacon

That is what I wanted to hear! So I guess it is really no big deal if you are only doung a ceremony. thanks!

Same with me. I'm only having a ceremony as well and one of the church's deacons will be performing it.

oh - so good than. have the decon do it if you dont like the priest.
