Does it matter who sits at the table next to me and FH on either side? I originally thought well obviously our closest friends would be on either side, but now both our parents say that they're important so they should be the ones sitting at the table next to us. My parents are sitting w/my old uncles and aunts and obviously won't be as much fun as friends... but does it really matter? Do friends come in handy sitting next to the bride and groom? Or will I be so busy and up all the time that I'll easily be able to hang out with my friends even though they are a couple of tables away? I also don't have a bridal attendant so anything I need help with, I'll have to go over to one of my bridesmaid's table.

Re: does it matter?
We did not do it this way. The table immediately to our left would have put one of our parents' directly next to the speaker, and separated from all their family/friends. They sat next to each other, directly across from us, surrounded by their family/friends but at a table with a perfect view and very front and center. The table to our left was the best man and close friends, and the table next to us on the right was close friends of ours.
I think you should do what you want to do.

Re: does it matter?
do what makes sense for YOUR ROOM and PARTY....because of the way our room was set up, and because we have three sets of parents it was better for us to put our bridal party and friends at the tables next to us and have the our parents on the other side of the room with everyone else

Re: does it matter?
we sat away from everyone lol......I put our table in the corner of the dance floor looking out towards the other tables, to avoid that problem. I put the younger crowd closest to the bar

Re: does it matter?
Actually, we had our bridal party at the tables closest to us on each side. Then we had the parents closest to them.
ETA: You won't be 'hanging out' with anyone the night of.......you're going to be ALL over the room ALL night, so it honestly doesn't even matter.

I was going to say I thought the bridal party would sit closest... but srsly, what do I know.
ETA, if everyone is saying your parents sit the closest, where are you putting your BP?

BP is sitting with friends or family depending on what category they fall in to. Not everyone in my bridal party knows each other so I'm not going to make them all sit together. I was in a wedding where they did that and I hated it. I would rather be with my friends or family.

Oooooooh, I didn't think about interspersing them amongst the party... all of my people know each other mostly. Gotcha.
